We are in talks with the Government about using our closed @BrewDog bars as vaccination centres. We are also going to give everyone who gets vaccinated at a BrewDog bar a special commemorative beer. But what should we call it?

Did you know Brighton Hippodrome was originally an unsuccessful ice rink, converted to a circus by architect Frank Matcham. That across it’s lifespan it staged names such as Houdini and the Beatles? That it has been on the Theatres at Risk Register since 2006? @savehippodrome

Planning new history topic to shine a light on Brighton’s Hippodrome. @savehippodrome @ourhippodrome @BrightonHippo Hippodrome is from Greek ‘hippos’ meaning horse + ‘dromos’ meaning course. Originally referring to a racecourse, then came to mean circus and a large theatre.

Celebrate the diversity of the English language as we return to school: 'Paper' this origin is contested, but many see the similarities between this and the Egyptian 'papyrus' and the plural 'papyri'. Do you?

Celebrate the diversity of the English language as we return to school: 'Glitch' is from Yiddish 'glitsh' meaning slip. Consider this when there is a glitch in your computer or your plans. #whatisenglish #diversityenglish
