@kar118800 @cremieuxrecueil Maybe slight strength loss from before the medication but hardly noticeable.

4 months in the minimum dose of Zepbound (232lb -> 189lb and still dropping). No side effects. Haven't felt this good in a decade.
Considering going on the min dose once every two weeks now from weekly.

@CaptainCons I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing yardwork at 6:30pm. I prefer to never hear it, but of course it has to get done.

@JohnLeFevre Movie theater for a family
Just rent it at home and make popcorn

2) airport lounges
3) Starbucks
4) Anything designer - LV, Gucci, or even Loro Piana
5) Michelin-starred restaurants
6) a new iPhone every year
7) DoorDash and UberEats
8) Bottle service
9) Concerts and music festivals
10) Personal trainers

@danpolovina @cremieuxrecueil Oh I get that age thing haha. Do you think the medicine helped build muscle at all or the same?
English

@kar118800 @cremieuxrecueil I mean I'm 48 now, definitely not as muscular as I was in my early 30's. But I'm in shape, maybe 75-80% as strong as I used to be.

@NolteNC Gen Z has a weird food disorder. Everything must be highly favored and made that day or else they won't eat it.
English

Gen Z considers that peasant food.

@NolteNC I made a batch of spaghetti that I will eat all week for about $15.
English

@CrazyVibes_1 Salmon and shrimp are both pricey. I also feel like people that don’t cook often don’t have a well stocked pantry and need to buy tons of stuff for a recipe. I still rather cook at home.
English

@lexetscientia @texasrunnerDFW Can you make her chicken or something instead?
English

@kar118800 @texasrunnerDFW I like the ones I cook at home better, too. The problem is my wife. I’m continually disappointed with steaks anywhere other than The Mercury and Bob’s.
English

@bobiscancer @texasrunnerDFW I buy steak at Costco all the time and freeze it for future use. Sure it’s not ideal, but quite honestly I have never even noticed it was frozen.
English

@texasrunnerDFW 3 nice prime ribeyes at Costco for a little over $80. Lucky my wife is small and my daughter still can’t handle over 1/2 lb. So we eat about $40 of ribeyes between the 3 of us for a rich dinner at home. Used to be $10-15 for the steaks
English

@lexetscientia @texasrunnerDFW Huh we cook it at home often. In fact I’ll rarely order steak at a restaurant bc the ones we make at home are so much better!
English

@texasrunnerDFW Who cooks ribeye at home? It's a lot more expensive than the chart shows, and your wife is just going to complain that it's too charred because of the fat that drips into the fire. Just go with the beautiful sirloin from Central Market, which also costs a lot more than $13.02.
English

@texasrunnerDFW I won’t argue the price of everything is high, but who the heck would even serve rib eyes at a bbq in the before times? Maybe I just know a bunch of broke people 😂
English

@WorkElizab Hell no. And wtf to the husband even thinking this was ok to ask.
English

@CyberNatha20050 @AllieJade1 Mmmm sounds like that one sundae at Dairy Queen.

This lady went to a big chain Ice Cream shop. 3 single scoop cups - almost 20 bucks, plus they expected a tip on top of it. She was floored and has decided that she's not going to spend money in these places anymore. I can relate!
Last month's treat for me - a medium 2 topping pizza, over 22 bucks. 2 weeks back, because I was running late - a 5 piece chicken tender and fries/with a canned soda, over 22 bucks. I'm over it too! I'm so done with over the top prices and they expect a tip on top of it! (And before anyone snarks - I'm a good tipper, because I used to be wait staff in my younger years, so I know!)
Is this frustration with prices isolated or a much more common and recent frustration in the last 5 years? How many franchises are pricing themselves right out of the market?

@lorifrank1 I rode my bike to the pool. Good times actually and lots of lemon juice.
English

Just a reminder that as GenX with boomer parents, the summer childcare plan for me was to drop me off at the city pool everyday from 10-6 with $1.50 in quarters and a towel. Lunch from a vending machine, no sunscreen, no life vest. We survived on sunshine, water fountains, and sun-bleached teenaged lifeguards. My friend knocked her teeth out on the diving board. The pool manager rinsed her mouth out with coke, gave her some paper towels and told her when it stopped bleeding she could get back in. We never questioned it. 😅
English

@TerryCarlsonII @lorifrank1 I’m sure this happened. I have very similiar stories of my childhood in the 1980’s 😂
English

@lorifrank1 Of all the things that never happened, this didn't happen the most.
