Glad that the best team of the FIFA World Cup won, and the best players got the individual awards. Would argue Messi deserved the Golden Ball, but Rodri wasn't far behind. More importantly, I'm happy that the crybabies will stop the rigged comment, at least for now.

@karandhar89 I'd actually give it a non-zero chance. 4-2-3-1 with hato-colwill-lacroix-james and a pivot of enzo and caicedo with James inverting into midfield can absolutely work. Makes midfield three with James and caicedo more withdrawn and enzo allowed to make his third man runs

@ChicagoDmitry Depends how you're building a midfield. Probably not the best profile to have in a pivot, but great to have in a midfield three in my opinion ofc

@karan_650 Kovacic is a very good midfielder if your idea of a very good midfielder is directly correlated to how good they are at dribbling in tight spaces and nothing else. Not my cup of tea.

My main fear with Lavia btw isn't that he's going to be hurt all season again, it's that he's going to manage to stay healthy for once and we're forced to play him extensive minutes

Andrey Santos was simply just not going to be 1st choice over 2 players who are among the best profiles itw in their position. But Santos k*lls 4 birds with one stone. 1 - gives you the legs in midfield Casemiro lacked. 2 - replaces McTominay’s fox in the box instincts. 3 - gives you Case’s movement in the final 1/3. 4 - provides the spatial awareness to cut passing lines and break up play that a traditional #6 mould. United don’t really need a traditional mould #6 because Carrick has pretty much optimized the OOP to not over-rely on a defensive anchor to keep everything at bay. And this is all while acting as a secondary creator from deep, because he very much has the vision and creativity to pick out runners in space - so he practically reduces the creative burden on Bruno. All of this pretty much depends on how United intend to use him. Top player and the Strasbourg stint backs a lot of what I’m saying. Kind of makes Ederson redundant now if you ask me.

@ChicagoDmitry Kovacic is a very good midfielder so saying he's a worse version of him is no slight. He's our most press resistant midfielder and that's saying something when the other two are enzo and caicedo. From the lil we've been able see(unfor) I think he can be a great line breaker

People justifying Santos being good because he's a bench player to Enzo and Caicedo need to realise that's literally the standard of midfield we should have as well. If someone had said Santos and Ederson in May they'd have been laughed off this app.

@jordyxcollins Palestra looks good going forward though + it's really important to have our captain on the pitch for most of the season and I unfortunately can't see him doing that at rwb. Reece's best position is for sure at rb/rwb his body just can't seem to handle it consistently now
