Shared my thoughts on privacy coins earlier today. With the bounce and renewed attention on the BNB ecosystem esp. Aster emerging as a key contender under CZ’s portfolio (2nd only to BNB, which he backed early) I’m increasingly confident the tide’s shifting away from the privacy narrative. Liquidity isn’t infinite, and with the category leader down ~10% since my earlier post, the rotation feels clearer now in prices too. Appreciate the attention. Few things about the market 👇 1. I was wrong in expecting the $59K-$74K range to hold. It made sense to me at the time but then the Mt. Gox news came + US & German Gov selling started, which was something me or the market wasn't prepared for. I think we had a good chance of holding the range otherwise but the relative weakness the weeks prior were already telling a story which I should have taken more serious in hindsight. 2. Long term bias remains the same. I still think the cycle has ways to go into 2025 but we need to get all this supply overhang out of the way. Once we do I think we can start catching up to TradFi. These mid cycle "bear markets" are something we tend to see at some point in each cycle, some are quick, some take months. In hindsight it's always easy but while you're in it not so much. For what it's worth, the market will find a bottom before it's clear what happened with all the #Bitcoin. Market is forward looking. It's unlikely to wait until for example the german government has sold every single $BTC. Because as the stack shrinks, so does the supply overhang + fear. In the end we will never know the future flows of every coin and buyer/seller out there. Price action is king. 3. I'm not touching long term holds. Just sitting it out and will see where we end up later this year/next year. 4. 99% of people are hurting with this down turn. You're not alone and it's what happens in this market. As GCR once said: "Cleanse yourself of your peak net worth". 5. Although the bottoming process, wherever it may be, might take some time. I don't think this is time to step away completely. Times like these are best used to pick up projects you believe in long term while everyone is either getting liquidated or willingly selling them at bear market valuations. It's not easy and there's no need to knife catch. But be on the look out for strength that comes out of all the chaos.
