However, this TVK administration has managed to leave itself completely caught pants down, executing an impossible process where the appointments were finalized before the public applications even closed. It is a stunning display of amateurish, bureaucratic clumsiness that is bound to get them absolutely shredded in the courts. To truly appreciate the sheer absurdity of how this government functions, you only have to look at the self-contradicting timeline established across the official documents. On June 01, 2026, the Home (Courts-IV) Department issued Short Notification No.02/2026, formally inviting eligible advocates to apply for three vacant posts of Additional Advocate General (AAG) to represent the state at the Supreme Court. The public paper publication explicitly states that applications are invited from "eligible advocates" and lays down a standard window until June 16, 2026, for submissions. Crucially, the public advertisement is completely silent on restricting these posts to designated Senior Advocates. Yet, in a hilarious, brainless rush that exposes a total lack of coordination, the exact same department issued a definitive Government Order—G.O (D).No.728 on June 02, 2026, bypassing its own advertisement to appoint Prashanto Chandra Sen and Haripriya Padmanabhan, explicitly noting them as Senior Advocates, to those very roles. This means the TVK Government reached the absolute heights of stupidity by giving the general pool of advocates a 15-day window to apply, only to turn around less than 24 hours later and hand the jobs to designated Senior Counsels on an ad hoc basis. It is an absolute administrative joke. While the G.O. tries to shield itself under the flimsy, desperate pretext that these June 02 appointments are just temporary until regular law officers are selected, the logic falls completely flat. Why even waste taxpayers' money publishing a formal recruitment notice on June 01 if you were already pushing through an ad hoc order to seat Senior Advocates on June 02? By failing to follow a basic, logical sequence, notifying the public, closing applications on June 16, reviewing candidates, and then appointing, the TVK administration has proven it cannot even coordinate its own calendar. This is a disastrous, embarrassing start for the government's legal appointments, proving they are completely caught pants down and utterly unfit to run a transparent administration. If this is their start for legal appointments, I don't want to imagine what is coming on the rest.
