@ccl_url If you don't find a fix, you could try File > Library > Backup Library (does that still work without spinny wheel?)... then go to a different computer (or entirely remove rekordbox & reinstall) and then Restore Library?

Just to be clear, I do not believe anybody at @acm_chi will reject a paper due to its title length. These locks on editing authors, titles & abstracts have good reasons behind but often they are not clearly spelled out, let me attempt to do this 👇🧵: 1/5

@kashtodi @da_lind @acm_chi I think it's safe to say we already have to many papers ;) what was the extrapolation someone did of the current regression line? 10k papers by 2050 or did I dream that?

@plopesresearch @da_lind @acm_chi All of it happens after the submission deadline so I don’t think this one week of “lock” really does much :| There were intentions to make use of it when it was introduced but I don’t think it really serves a purpose right now. Would be way simpler just to have one deadline IMO

@da_lind @kashtodi @acm_chi Yeah, depends a bit on specific timelines, and in some years they attempted it that way and I think it's healthy (we attempted for UIST too) but the conflicts def need to happen before the bidding so it's all a long chain of work?

@plopesresearch @acm_chi That is often claimed as the reason, but AC bidding doesn’t really happen before the final paper submission deadline for CHI (from what I remember)!

@acm_chi 1. why lock title and abstract? The title & abstracts are used for associate chairs (ACs) to bid on which papers they want to lead as 1AC/2AC. The key idea is that ACs might start as early as possible bidding on papers. At 4000+ papers, the earlier the bidding , the better 2/5
