In Mukono North during elections, after attempts to overturn the victory of MP-elect Kiwanuka Abdallah Mulimamayuuni, armed military personnel raided his home. His 27-year-old son, Ahabwe Mukama, was shot dead on the spot, and property including vehicles was vandalized. Thank you @ntvuganda Uganda for highlighting these injustices. And you ask why people celebrate when you’re dead 🚮.

Stanbic Bank Uganda, a bank that makes nearly USD 90 million in profit a year, having just one pen for tens of customers in its branches and barely having tellers is baffling. Stingy banks. No.

Hundreds of soldiers descended on our home in Magere last night. Most were dressed in SFC uniforms while others were in regular UPDF uniforms and others in plain clothes. Many of them were drunk. They came with ladders, ready to climb upstairs. They broke our doors and forced themselves into our house. Using hammers, they hit walls, window glasses, and doors. They put my wife on gunpoint, asking her to reveal my whereabouts. They stole money, numerous valuable documents, and all electronic gadgets. They took phones, laptops, chargers, our internet system, our CCTV system, speakers, and any electronic gadget they could lay their criminal hands on. They entered every part of our house, including the ceiling, and left so much destruction everywhere. They grabbed my wife's phone, forced her to sit down, and ordered her to remove her password. She refused. They strangled her and insulted her. They forcefully removed her blouse and took pictures! Speaking Runyakore, they asked why she would get married to a muganda, and why we would dare challenge Museveni. They beat up our askari and house maid. They ordered the askari to show them where the basement is, where I was hiding. These criminals asked where my children were! My wife was rushed to hospital where she remains admitted - dealing with all the physical and psychological trauma. Yet in all this, we remain firm in our belief that UGANDA WILL BE FREE.

On the night of the voting day, armed regime security actors invaded my premises in Butambala and fired live bullets inside my home leaving many of my agents dead. Out of panic they carried some bodies from the scene to justify their rhetoric. #FreeUgandaNow

From the archives: "Peaceful transfer of power is part of civilisation. The more backward you are politically, the more turbulent you get when you get changes. That means you do not know how to handle civil affairs. So, you resort to brute force. We had to use brute force the other time because [Milton] Obote did not allow us to organise things. We tried to appeal to Obote, 'Please, let's have good elections.' He thought he was very clever; that he knew how to play games..."- President @KagutaMuseveni in December 1992 while receiving the draft of the new (1995) Constitution from the Uganda Constitutional Commission (often referred to as the Odoki Commission). At the time, Mr Museveni was contrasting his National Resistance Movement (@NRMOnline) with the violent transitions that characterised Uganda’s earlier history under leaders like Milton Obote and Idi Amin. #MonitorArchives #MonitorUpdates

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS In just one day, we shall be going to polls. While we're doing everything possible to ensure that we have polling agents at every polling station, we know that the regime will try to stop some and arrest others. The first step is for all of us to stay at the polling stations (while observing the 20-metre distance) and ensure that nothing criminal happens. We implore everyone to use their cameras and record anything irregular. In addition to posting it online, we shall provide WhatsApp contacts through which that evidence may be sent. The second step is to ensure that in case our agents are arrested or blocked, we get the DR Forms, take their pictures, and upload them through this app! The law requires every presiding officer to pin a copy of the DR form at a visible place at a polling station. Let's all ensure that happens and take the pictures, and upload them. Even if the internet is switched off, upload the DR form, and it will reflect as soon as the internet is restored. LET'S ALL GET INVOLVED. In case you missed what Change Lovers in Mbale did yesterday when the People’s President was in the city — despite being pushed almost 8 miles away, people still turned up in huge numbers to welcome him and listen to the message of protest vote and a New Uganda. Very soon, Uganda will return to its roots. Thank you NTV for the highlights.

The life of a typical Ugandan police officer and, by extension, military and prisons officers. As stated in our 2026–2031 Manifesto, our government will put conditions in place that not only preserve the dignity of these officers at and away from work, but also ensure that they can meet the basic needs of their families.

Today marks exactly one year since a rogue @PoliceUg officer murdered Julius Ssemwaka in cold blood! Julius just happened to be on the road to fed for his family - he drove a mini-truck for a living - Constable Charles Bahati demanded for right of way & then shot him dead! With all the modern technology, thousands of trained officers etc, @PoliceUg either can't find the killer in their ranks or have opted to protect him! #JusticeForJuliusSsemwaka

One day, they will ask “How did we get here? “, “Why do citizens hate us?”. *the “Professional UPDF” is now beating up citizens for carrying the National Flag. An army that finds joy in torturing unarmed citizens is an army that lacks integrity.
