@karpathy Don't you ever find yourself in adversarial critique collapse? Where every optimization you make based on critical feedback is always one step away from being good enough

- Drafted a blog post - Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours. - Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing! - Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite. - LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true. - lol The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.

Cowork just organized 6 months of receipts into a categorized spreadsheet with monthly breakdowns. Pointed it at a folder. That’s it.

@SamaHoole @cyantist Plants protect seeds because they want survive and disperse Not because they’re “unedible by design” Many foods have defenses: Almonds (cyanogenic compounds) Beans (lectins) Potatoes (solanine) Cassava (cyanide) Human food culture = removes defenses That’s how civilization works

Cashews grow on trees with a shell so toxic that processing them requires protective equipment to avoid chemical burns. The shell contains urushiol - the same compound in poison ivy. This is the plant telling you: "Don't eat this." You ignored the warning. Cashews are also: - High in lectins (gut damage) - High in phytic acid (mineral blocker) - 45% carbohydrate (blood sugar spike) - Contain oxalates (inflammation trigger) They're never sold raw because raw cashews can cause allergic reactions so severe they require hospitalization. "Raw" cashews in health food stores are steamed to remove toxins. The plant's defense chemicals are so problematic they require industrial processing to make them merely "somewhat harmful" instead of "actively dangerous." Cashews are also a common allergen. Your immune system recognizes them as a threat and attacks. This is your body working correctly, not a malfunction. You're eating tree nuts that require chemical processing to not poison you, and calling it a healthy snack.

We are the architects of the probability distribution. We are the ones steering the convertible into the unknown, screaming at the AI to drive faster, to bridge the gap between the impossible and the inevitable. The machine is just the engine. You are the madness behind the wheel

@elonmusk Most people in charge of gov departments have no domain expertise, I get why you'd focus on this specifically though

2. Before we invest further in models becoming smarter, for god's sake please let's find a way for models to at least be aware of their own documentation. This is an example of gemini hallucinating its own versioning :( @OfficialLoganK

Unpopular vibe coding opinions 1. Some of the areas that people criticize ai built apps for like security, permission mgmt, environment setup... also have some of the worst ux. Sometimes it almost feels like protectionism around 'domain knowledge' that shouldn't rly be that hard

ChatGPT has integrated an outstanding voice mode with Advanced Voice. At first, everyone wanted to try it out and use it, but time was limited. Now I hardly use it anymore. Not because it's bad—on the contrary, it's great. But it's impractical for everyday use; simply writing a prompt is faster. Or are there any of you who use voice mode every day—and if so, why?

I’m building a prototype called Frequency — an “AI TV” where you tune your signal instead of drowning in the noise. If anyone working on foundation video models wants to help make this consumer-scale and affordable, DM me.

AI might break the feed — or it might finally fix it. With Sora 2 + Veo 3.1, our timelines are filling with AI-generated videos — and everyone’s panicking about “AI slop”, doomscrolling, and the loss of what’s real.
