One of the bleakest things Silicon Valley ever accomplished was convincing people that inconvenience is inherently evil. Waiting for food. Getting lost in a city and having to ask someone for directions. Learning an instrument slowly. Writing a bad first draft. Calling a friend because you were bored. Human life used to contain friction. Now every tech company acts like human existence itself is a software inefficiency waiting to be optimized away. Faster delivery. Shorter videos. Instant answers. AI-generated art. AI-generated friendships. AI-generated girlfriends. AI-generated purpose. The entire economy is becoming a war against the experience of being alive. And everyone cheers because answers to all your problems are just one prompt away. I think boredom probably created more culture than productivity ever did.

The AI bubble & data center issue is at peak stress. They have invested far too much into AI to let public opinion put that at risk. They will do anything to flip the narrative, create a real "luddite" boogeyman & sweep real criticism under the rug. List of criticisms below.

I hate that you felt the need to end with the obligatory "I also understand AI can have many scientific, accessibility & medical benefits & am always open to hearing the positive points as well" which, you know in your heart, is complete bullshit, there is no upside to this fraudulence, or should I say the upside, such as it is, is so pathetically miniscule that it rounds off to zero. AI is not going to cure dread diseases –– it will definitely kill far more people than it saves –– and it does not have "many scientific benefits" (LOUD BARF SOUND) my god how can you write that with a straight face? I know you are a good man, of sound mind and strong principles (for otherwise you would not have written this excellent thread), so don't sell yourself short at the end with apologetic nods to those who would gladly end the human race on a down note.
