@charlie_psych The starting point might be how I am arriving with this patient, what am I bringing or not, and that work starts, as you say Charlie, by looking inside. After which, for the time you are together with the patient, they are the most important person in your life. Colin

@brigidrussell51 @charlie_psych @KateRaworth All going well thank you, still loving my listening work...as you know so needed. Hope life is treating you and Charlie well. Colin

@katcolles @charlie_psych @KateRaworth Good to hear from you, Colin. Hope you're well. Yes - I agree with your wife. I'm finding it a fascinating & compelling read.
English

@brigidrussell51 @charlie_psych @KateRaworth My wife rates this book and Kate's thinking highly...way to go. Hope you are both going well. Colin

@charlie_psych Hello Charlie, I've been reading "Doughnut Economics" by @KateRaworth this week. I think you'd really relate to it. It speaks to the essence of your tweet here...

@ckentone @charlie_psych I am with you on all of this. For some time have worked with Doing and Being, which informs how we do the Doing. More recently, I have realised that even Being is a form of Doing, and now know that to Be is the way...hence Be'ing.
English

@charlie_psych Interesting to reflect, having just left a “system” Charlie. It’s almost about re-energising intent (for relationships/communication) on a daily basis. I’m thinking about the huddles/meetings where we talk about the “doing” of the day ahead, but rarely about the “being”…..
English

@charlie_psych Agreed, Charlie, a normal thing to do. Listen when someone is speaking...cool and radical today I feel.
English

@katcolles Wow yeah imagine that Colin! Thanks for this. Appreciate this is romanticising it, but I think of ancestors who would have sat round a fire at the end of each day, just as a normal thing to do😃
Have a lovely evening👋

@brigidrussell51 I am doing well, thank you Brigid. Still loving my listening work, as you know I would be. 2023 was more deep diving and evolving for me, planning for 2024 to be getting me and my work out more. Blessings, Colin

@katcolles Good to hear from you, Colin. Hope you're OK these days.
English

@ArtfulPractice @StefanPowell Until now I have been unaware of any of this. Extraordinary is my initial thought, not in a dismissive way, rather a this needs looking into and to reflect upon way. Thank you for highlighting it. Colin
English

@charlie_psych It's a beautiful spot on metaphor Charlie, and yes, it relates to all relationships.
English

@katcolles Thanks Colin. I was noticing a mum & her toddler daughter yday, & seeing the space the mum made for her, to go off & explore. Made me think of work relationships too & attachment. Yeah absolutely, this dynamic needs to be replicated throughout, carers need to be cared for too...
