Since that day, the tension in the house has been constant. His father avoids speaking to him directly. When he does speak to him, it’s only about grades, assignments, or “manly” activities. He keeps insisting that my son return to the football team. He checks his phone whenever he can and makes frequent comments about how he should behave, how he should sit, and how he should speak. My son now spends more time with me in the kitchen or the living room when his father is not around. Last week, the school called because my son argued with a classmate who called him “weird.” He didn’t get into a physical fight, but he yelled at the boy in front of the entire class. It was the first time he has responded like that. The school counselor told me she has noticed him becoming much quieter over the past few months. He barely participates in class and avoids group activities. What do you advise me?

My son is 14 years old. Two weeks ago, he asked to speak with me alone. He closed the door to his room, sat on the edge of his bed, and began fidgeting with his hands while avoiding eye contact. I thought he was in trouble at school, that he had been punished, or that he had gotten into a fight with someone. I asked him several times what was wrong, but he didn’t answer. Finally, he said, very quietly, that he likes men. He told me that for a long time he had felt different whenever his classmates talked about girlfriends. Then he confessed that he liked a classmate. After that, he stopped speaking and just stared at the floor, as if he were expecting me to scream or stand up. His hands were shaking and his eyes were red, as though he had been preparing for hours to say those words. He said he had known for over a year. He first started noticing these feelings when he was 13. He had tried to ignore them, searched the internet for answers, and deleted his phone history every day out of fear that his father would check it.

Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America. People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough.  It is time for ABC to take a stand.  How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community.

I was in a meeting with a social worker last week doing Ryan's social care assessment om going through all the things i do to help Ryan everything from food to transport to clothing shes writing away and then asks....is it ok if I pinch a few of your ideas, of course it is i say, I say this a lot and i mean alot but I personally think thats theres a place a bigger place for autistic people to give advice on their lived experiences now disclaimer time all autistic people are different so what works for one autistic person may not work for another, with 8/ 10 autistic people unemployed asking autistic people for their advice,their insights could really benefit many autistic people of all ages and be a route into paid employment for autistic people.

LONDON HAS FALLEN !!! On the Circle Line Tube just now when a pregnant lady gets on. A large BLACK man IMMEDIATELY gets up in a THREATENING manner and in an INTIMIDATING voice suggests to the lady that she take his seat. THIS CAN'T GO ON !!! WE ARE LOST !!!

@bindelj I’d not give them a penny of my hard earned cash. I always shop at charity shops and always pay more than the asked price ( usually donating to the relevant box ) I donate much also. This has angered me immensely 😡
