1. Dual processing of motor & sensory signals Sensory and motor symptoms may be mutually consequential - two sides of the same coin. These two processes are intrinsically linked and processed together within the brain. Improving one may result in improvement in the other.

Perhaps the most interesting finding was the long list of symptoms that DID NOT predict outcome. This included symptom duration, having severe pain or fatigue, type of motor symptom, etc

This book disrupted and reshaped my understanding of work and medicine. It gave a history, political framing and language for how I have been trained for complicity in perpetuating ableism and racial capitalism. And a framework for resistance and alternatives. Hard recommend.
