I've been working on an app to help manage frontend metrics/code quality off and on for the past year. I finally got a fun ESLint page going! It's been fun to learn about OAuth and caching and improve my backend skills. S/o to @DanielKanem for the SaaS template! #buildinpublic

5) I can accidentally "climb up where I can't get down". E.g. I was working on code in Rust, which I do not know. The first few PRs went great! Then Claude was getting too confused. Oh no. We're stuck. IME this is fine, just get ready to slowww dowwwn to get properly oriented.

I used @cursor_ai for the first time today. Results: my code is a mess, I used a lot of prior dev knowledge to prompt it in the right direction, and I accomplished more this morning on my hobby project than I have in months. 😬

Every place I've ever worked, I like to knock out frontend tech debt and I want a way to make this less tedious and give the business more insight into why it's important. After being asked for metrics more times than I can count, I'm building the app I need to do so.

@cursor_ai Insanely productive. But I had to say "uh actually can you not do it that way and do it this better way instead" many times. But it also suggested many performance improvements that I had missed. Lots of tradeoffs, but I am glad I didn't learn to code while this was a thing.

@Shopify Scenario - building a site for someone who just wants to a portfolio site but then decides to sell something. I either have to redo it all in Shopify so they only have to check in one place, or do a headless store (never again).

@Shopify "complaint" - I wish there was a marketing site only plan (no purchasing features) with the ability to upgrade. This would make 2 phase (marketing + e-commerce) rollouts so much better. I'd use Shopify for everything.
