CMO Scott Tomlins sat down with @Inside_PM to discuss why researchers are focused on biomarker discovery to unlock the potential of immunotherapy - a trend he notes will "pave the way toward giving more patients the hope of an actual cure." More here: insideprecisionmedicine.com/topics/oncolog…

Do patients prefer immediate access to test results, even when the news may not be good? Multi-site survey of 8,139 patients says: YES ✅ Patients overwhelmingly supported receiving results immediately... But WHY does this matter?🧵 jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman… #hcldr #healthIT

An improved biomarker to identify patients who may benefit from immunotherapy, which identifies TWICE as many patients as TMB with similar duration of benefit! Awesome work by my colleagues @StrataOncology !

@hereisramji Where was this data 10 years ago when I worked for this start up that thought my team could publish a paper every other week? Cough, cough... 😉

If you assume scientific labor is $100-$250 per hour, then that works out to $18K-$44K per publication. That's probably a lower bound, since this is a single person's effort.

Okay #baking and #cooking friends of #GeneChat and beyond, what are your go to #Fall recipes? I usually make a chocolate chip pumpkin bread, zucchini bread and one or two batches of apple butter. Plus lots of soup. But I'm looking for suggestions to branch out.

@carrie_haverty @DivaBiotech @morgancheatham Agree re: increasing access to #GeneticCounselors. Would also advocate for clinical decision support in EHRs, ie getting data into the EHR is the "easy" part. Figuring out how to use that data is hard and will be hard for GCs too given the volume of data/treatment associations.

I had to stop writing this thread because I actually had to go and speak to @morgancheatham IRL on zoom instead :)
Ruby Gadelrab@DivaBiotech

@morgancheatham So many insights I want to share on this thread 1) To date there are only 6000 genetic counselors to serve 330M americans 2) GCs aren't just the primary educator of patients, they are also the primary educators of clinicians who barely know any genetics. We need to scale GCs
