How can an undocumented illegal foreigner hold a legal permit? Before Minister Stella Ndabeni-Abrahams blocked me, I asked a critical question: How do you regularise an illegal business? Months later, we still see no evidence of foreign-owned spaza shops—including those run by Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Ethiopian nationals—following the new regulations. It is business as usual, as if no crimes were ever committed. The so-called 'spaza shop mafia' controls the mass production of counterfeit goods, which has tragically led to the deaths of South African children. They operate through exclusive networks and exploit victims of human trafficking who work extreme hours for sub-minimum wages. Furthermore, South African shop owners are being intimidated, threatened, and even killed. Local citizens are being systematically forced out of this sector. Do you think South Africans will not eventually rise up to defend their livelihoods? The government’s failure to enforce the law is pushing citizens toward vigilantism. We need action before people feel they have no choice but to take the law into their own hands.

@kaygeeminer Africans, a bit of history on this DRC Mine; a) Kibali is the Biggest Gold Mine in Africa b) The Mine is largely owned by Barrick of Canada c) 2024 , it made $1.4 Billion in revenue & paid $39 million in royalties to DRC The DRC got 2.9% while 97.1% went to Canadian owners

The DRC is treating me well. Flew me in, gave me two sets of PPE now I look like part of the mining team. Now learning French and Lingala basics. Also met a couple of South Africans, some relocated here more than 10 years ago.

🚩Countries where their economies dominated by resources do regulate the minerals export by putting export tariffs/quotas or banning raw ore exports when necessary so that they do not become price takers and the jobs are not lost to the countries raw ore is shipped. Indonesia has done this for nickel successfully and they are doing it for coal now. 🇮🇩 🚩It is utterly absurd to keep ferrochrome smelters in South Africa idle and export the raw chrome ore to China to be smelted there! 🇨🇳 🚩All of the South African ferrochrome smelters should be restarted as soon as possible.🇿🇦
