Post sales experience with @sleepnumber a disaster. Horrible customer service. Still waiting for a delivery that they won’t take responsibility to resolve. About to file a breach on contract complaint.

Folks, several of us warned this was possible. Here we are. For the next four years, at least, the @Chiefs and @Royals are bound by contract to play at Arrowhead and Kauffman. Over $200 million of @JacksonCountyMO tax dollars are subject to approval for dispersement to the teams in that time. I think it’s time for us in the legs to start reviewing receipts. #Kansas #Democrats delivered #Missouri #republicans are left scratching their heads…🤷🏽‍♂️

@prostreetcar Who is going to pay? The TDD model is broken and must not be repeated for any future street car. Making a small portion of the city pay for a city wide asset is appalling, not fair and insane.

On Friday, Kansas City opened a 3.4 mile expansion of its streetcar system. It extends the 2016 starter line south to the University of Missouri at KC. Another extension running 1.2 miles north to the Missouri River will open in 2026. Two more lines are in the planning stages.

@kcstreetcar Hundreds of millions of dollars spent on the extension and the digital signs at the stops don’t work to tell you when the next train is arriving? Way to go.

@QuintonLucasKC This is what @portkc should be doing. Not giving away millions of tax payer dollars with zero accountability to developers that have NOTHING to do with the City’s navigable waters.

All the mayor wants to do is shift blame and regulate the hell out of crime. Which never works. It’s called a competent police chief, local control and a force that does more than just respond to violent crime. This all happened on his watch. apple.news/ALbQ_pYg_QLGXG…

@kcstreetcar @KCStar You are causing massive traffic. The lights are not timed properly. There will be a ballot initiative to get rid of them. Tax payer dollars are for roads and lanes. You always say “share the road”. So share it…don’t take it over.

@QuintonLucasKC They were trespassing. KCPD does not respond to trespassing. That is part of the issue. Basic quality of life issues continue to go unaddressed. This is what happens.

Since the conversation is important to me too and some wonder why private property owners are vital in the convo, I’ll share some of an email I sent in mid July to private interests after the last shooting mere weeks ago in the exact same lot where two were killed last night

@KCTV5 @QuintonLucasKC and the rest of City Council is to blame. They have done nothing but throw money at KC PD. Money that KC PD can do with as they want. Local control is the only way to turn the page on the Chief Graves failures time and time again.

@celisa_mia @MayaCederlund This is @QuintonLucasKC fail. Without dealing with the massive crime rates in that area no one would shop there. We just keep throwing money at things without solving the underlying issues. Where’s this local control everyone was so jazzed up for? That property is worthless now.

Last week the 9th construction crane in downtown went up at 18th and Vine (number 8 at 1818 main also pictured). When I first became City Manager 4.5 years ago we had 0-1 at any given time. Billions of dollars of new projects underway. Very proud of the work we did to build incredible development and investment momentum in Kansas City!

Tower cranes mean big and exciting new development projects under construction, and Kansas City has a lot of these popping up. Here are 7 cranes I found yesterday downtown: * 31st and Main (new apartments) * Riverfront District (new apartments, office space, retail, and a new promenade next to CPKC stadium) * 25th and Charlotte (UMKC Healthcare and Innovation building) * 3rd and Grand (new apartments) * Barney Allis Plaza (next post in thread; new parking lot and world class public park)

@JusticeHorn_ Amen. Highly ineffective unless you are a developer getting tax payer handouts from the tax payer slush fund known at Port KC. Non elected board giving away tax payer money is criminal.

Quinton Lucas in Congress would be a disaster. At every level—local, state, and federal—we need leaders who are focused on results, not headlines. Remember his promises when running as Mayor? He said he'd fix potholes and bring down crime. He’s now in his final years of his 8 years and that’s not happened, but gotten worse. If he couldn’t deliver in Kansas City, why would anyone believe he’ll suddenly be effective in Washington? We don’t need another politician chasing cable news hits, viral committee clips, or plotting their next campaign for Senate or President. We need serious leaders committed to the real work—not the spotlight.
Pete Mundo@PeteMundo

When I asked @QuintonLucasKC if he is MORE likely to run for a congressional seat if Missouri redistricts for a theoretical 7-1 map, creating more potential purple districts, he said, "Yes." 95.7FM @kcmotalkradio

Reliable and efficient transit is a vital service for our community. I have appointed Councilman Eric Bunch to the seat representing the 320,00 Kansas Citians south of the river on the KCATA Bd. of Commissioners to ensure a sustainable system with strong service delivery for all.

@TomGerend @QuintonLucasKC @kcstreetcar And traffic has never been worse. Travel times down Main Street are ridiculous. The street lights are not timed correctly to deal with the reduced lanes. Needs to be fixed.

@JDuncanKC My taxes are too damned high because you and your city hall cronies keep letting PortKC give away tax payer money for countless projects. Heaven help you if you use PortKC for a stadium and bypass the will of the voters.

Glad we spent hundred of millions of tax payer money on @kcstreetcar expansion to have it sit idle. What’s the hold up? Why won’t you give a service start date? You have responsibility to Main Street TDD members to communicate what’s going on. After all we funded it!
