In college, I had a French professor from France, and one time a Canadian guy on the hockey team said a new word and she narrowed her eyes darkly and asked "c'est quebecois, ça?" and FORBADE the rest of us from using the word

Discussion we had this evening. In NYC we are bringing back the IRISH HELLO. AKA THE 90s. Here’s how it works. You and your friends all share location. Sporadically throughout the day (lunch break, coffee walk, after work, before work) you check to see where they are. If you’re close to someone, you just show up at their location. Aka bring them a coffee to work, stop by their apt unannounced, kick shoes off and spill the tea. Spontaneously grab a drink or dinner because you’re in the same vicinity. And even if you’re not, meet in the middle. It’s easy to get around here. We’re nostalgic for a time that does not exist and yet we have the means to create it and still we refuse. Everyone is too cool or too nonchalant or too scared to appear desperate. Who gives a fuck. I think we should all be a little more desperate. You’re alive. You need people and people need you. Be the one who calls. Be the one who makes the plan, who sets the tone. I guarantee you’ll be surprised at who shows up. It’s better to be the person who tries than the person who doesn’t. HELLO I AM HERE.

MD-only, maybe. Stefi is so good that I can't imagine the Italian Fed would let her stop 4s. Top players will tell you she's a top-5 fourth globally. Went 3-0 at Rock League.
And we could see a mercenary team eventually, won't be with her. Too entrenched in Italian sport now

@kctww Yeah that's what I'm wondering about (the no bench, not the Olympics). Italian sports have big funding, their curlers make more than any others as far as direct funding from feds goes. I am genuinely confused by the plan because even if the team didn't work, they could force it

I know they had a brutal year on tour (fell to 27th in the world), didn't make playoffs at worlds, and the Olympics were rough off and on the ice, but I just don't know who plays with Stefania (who is a star). Elena probably goes back to SUI but has to wait 2 years. 🤷♂️

This is a real strange one to me since the press release states all 5 players are going their separate ways. No idea what the plan is. The next best Italian women's team is all juniors, ranked #138 in the world, and couldn't make it out of the World Junior Bs. Head-scratcher
