Leaving one's faith requires the superhuman act of shedding a lifetime of religion-related Confirmation Bias, usually planted in your brain before you were old enough to question such things. I applaud the courage of each #exChristian who successfully completes this heavy lift and replaces the old Confirmation Bias with a commitment to follow the truth wherever it leads. After we have taken this giant step, it's still a good idea to keep checking ourselves for new occurrences of Confirmation Bias that could once again close our minds to new avenues of truth.
