140 officers were injured. That is documented and real. What is also documented — Republicans blocked a bipartisan commission to investigate the full chain of command. What is not fully documented — who knew what was coming, who coordinated what, and whether anyone on either side had advance knowledge and said nothing. The participants were prosecuted. The command structure was never fully examined. Injured officers deserve the full truth — not a fundraising tool. The conclusions are yours.

More than 140 officers were injured defending the Capitol on January 6th. They waited six years for the plaque in their honor to be hung in the Capitol. They watched as Donald Trump pardoned every single one of their assailants. Some of them can no longer work and cannot even get disability benefits. But Donald Trump has set aside nearly $2 BILLION of your taxpayer money to pay the criminals who assaulted them. It’s a punch in the face to every police officer in this country who puts his or her life on the line to protect us. I support Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn in their lawsuit to stop this outrageous scheme.

Here's your history lesson, free of charge, since apparently no one in your staff has a library card. 1937. Franklin Delano Roosevelt -- a Democrat, since we are keeping score -- tried the EXACT same scheme. Court wasn't ruling his way. New Deal programs were getting struck down. So what did he do? He proposed adding one new justice for every sitting justice over age 70. Could have ballooned the bench to FIFTEEN seats. You know what happened next? His OWN party killed it. Buried it. The Democratic-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee called the plan -- and I want you to read this slowly -- "a needless, futile, and utterly dangerous abandonment of constitutional principle." They voted it down 70 to 20. His. Own. Party. The Democrats of 1937 had more spine than the entire current caucus combined. That is not a compliment to the current caucus. And then -- THEN -- Biden's Autopen set up a whole Presidential Commission on Supreme Court reform in 2021. You just called that a "college seminar." Their OWN commission. Their OWN scholars. Produced a 294-page report. Declined to recommend expansion. Said it could, quote, "undermine the Court's legitimacy." So the adults in your own movement said no. Twice. Across ninety years. And you are here calling for action. Not the chamber where the only thing a few of them have reliably passed is gas and bad legislation. You are not leading here. You are the hood ornament on a clown car pointing at the windshield and calling it a vision. Nine justices is not a bug. It is the FEATURE. It is 157 years of institutional stability designed to make sure whichever party holds power cannot simply manufacture favorable rulings on demand. A court that gets resized every time the opposition wins a few cases is not a court. It is a rubber stamp. History has a name for countries that do that. It is not a flattering name. The answer to losing cases before the Supreme Court is to make better constitutional arguments.
