@pureMetatron I used to feel the same until I returned to the Catholic Church.

Since I publicly said I’m going to raise my child Christian, people have been leaving comments that look like this. Make sure he is protestant, Catholics aren’t Christians. Make sure he is Catholic, only Catholics are Christians. And every other flavor. I’m gonna say it bluntly. If you believe Jesus is God and you believe He was resurrected, you’re a Christian. I don’t care which version. Still fits the definition. The doctrinal differences on everything else could make you right or wrong on doctrine, but you are still a Christian no matter if Orthodox, Catholic and ALL the rest. The idea of denominational exclusivity whereby ONLY your single version makes you a Christian is SATANIC and of the Devil. He wants to push people away from considering themselves Christians. The Lord wants us all to come to Him. I’m NOT willing to change my mind on this view.

@broadwaybabyto @Arafurastorm It’s actually a great reason. You should be very concerned about the community you have around you and the love you give to people throughout your life and especially at the end of it. It’s common sense I fear.

@Arafurastorm Worrying about who will look after you when you’re old is a terrible reason to have kids.

We do not owe society babies. We do not owe men our physical and emotional labour. We do not need to be wives and mothers in order to have fulfilling lives. Now more than ever women are realizing how happy they can be without a man. We’re done with patriarchy.

Having children is fundamentally a moral issue. You’re making a life-altering decision for someone who never consented to it. You can’t guarantee them happiness. You can only guarantee they’ll experience pain, stress, loss, aging, and death. People say having kids is beautiful. Maybe. But creating possible suffering for someone else because you wanted to be a parent is a serious ethical choice people rarely question. If you have a child, you might create suffering.

@RyBirdman @mark_slapinski I understand that. This person was saying that at American hospitals you can be actively dying and get turned away if you can’t afford it. That’s a lie that could actually hurt people if they believe it.

People say Canadian healthcare is not free, because we pay taxes for it. But in America, people pay taxes and still have to pay for healthcare out of their pockets. And if they are broke, the hospital tells them to go die.

Homosexuals are not evil people to be hated. They are human beings searching for identity, meaning, and belonging just like everyone else. Our response isn't rejection or hostility. It's Christ. And Christ always leads with truth and love.
