On May 4, Ihor from Merefa lost his wife in a missile strike on the city. He and Lyubov had been together for seven years. Overall 7 people were killed in the attack. "My wife left for work, five or ten minutes later — an explosion. I started calling her, but she didn’t answer. I got in the car and drove. At first, I saw many wounded people. I looked around — she wasn’t there. I drove down toward the gas station, thinking maybe she had gone farther. All the while I kept calling. Then I turned back, parked, walked along the path, and that’s when I saw her," Ihor recounted. The couple was raising two children, aged 6 and 16. "She was truly, honestly, the best mother. She was so… I simply adored her. She was very beautiful. I don’t even know what to say. Such a wonderful person. We lived together for seven years." - Suspilne News report from Merefa

A woman holds her father’s hand through the shattered window of his car. He was killed by shrapnel in the middle of a street in Merefa. One of seven killed when a Russian missile hit a busy road at 10am, 30 km from Kharkiv, in a town people saw as relatively quiet.

Yesterday, russians killed 19-year-old Illia. He was simply sleeping in his dorm room when a russian missile struck the building in Dnipro. Just think about it: he was from Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region — a city that russians have practically destroyed. He was only 19. He should have been living, studying, building his future. But our neighbour is a terrorist state, and nowhere is truly safe.

💔📸 Dnipro. A 19-year-old student was simply in his dorm room. The world still fails to grasp the full horror of russian terror.

Trump has gone completely over the edge in this deranged post. A Dutch band (from an island?) is now getting worldwide free publicity and exposure thanks to the orange basketcase.

PETRAEUS: I hosted event recently at which I described Ukraine as Arsenal of Democracy. And I believe, this generation deserves to be called Ukraine’s Unbreakable Generation. There’s a phrase about World War II American generation in Tom Brokaw’s book The Greatest Generation. And they deserve that name, not just for winning the war and making the world safe for democracy, but because of what they did when they came home. And, I think we’ll see the same in Ukraine. This generation will be the Arsenal of Democracy for the Western world.

@Davidps23NH @JohnCleese We have NATO to thank for Trump being on his knees for Putin? That only makes sense if it were the next entry on the script provided by your FSB handler.

French actor and writer Jean Reno unveiled his second book — L’Évasion (“The Escape”), novel about abduction of Ukrainian children by Russian occupiers. In interview with French magazine Télé 7, Reno said novel was inspired by real-life stories of abducted Ukrainian children. He said he was shocked by the scale of the crime: as of 2024, human rights organizations had identified more than 19,000 deported children. The book explores themes of deportation and forced assimilation of children during wartime. The story centers on Emma, former masseuse recruited by France’s foreign intelligence agency, DGSE. Operating undercover, she travels to Siberia to infiltrate so-called “rehabilitation camp” for Ukrainian teenagers. Her mission is to document crimes, including children’s forced detention and ideological indoctrination.

Did you know Ukraine was the third largest importer of Bentleys in Europe in 2025? Did you know that Ukraine imported 15 of the new £600,000 Rolls Royce Spectres? Did you know Ukraine imports more supercars than Russia? I wonder where the money comes from and who drives them?
