This young man was brutally murdered in his own home, inside his own room after army personnel scaled his fence to gain access, and the Nigerian Army has released a pitiful statement admitting to the death but denying the events and circumstances surrounding it, showing once again that their agency cannot move away from false narratives. This brings back painful memories of the Lekki Toll Gate massacre for me, where the same institution denied involvement despite clear evidence. The army has allowed itself to be a tool of injustice and intimidation rather than peace and protection. Samad must get justice Those personnel who murdered him must be publicly named and prosecuted. The reason why Peter Obi will never rule Nigeria except by rare chances is because he thinks he can win a gun fight with eloquent and motivational speeches.
