Jon Alberta Patriot@JonFromAlberta·
I walked around Ross Street Patio and City Hall Park in Red Deer asking people one simple question: Are you patriotic to Canada? Most people say yes. But when you ask the obvious follow-up question — “what does that actually mean?” — the answers get thin very quickly. That is the problem. A lot of Canadian patriotism today seems to be shallow loyalty to a flag, a government, or a system that many people have never seriously questioned. But real patriotism is deeper than that. It is loyalty to your people. Your home. Your culture. Your heritage. Your values. Your shared dreams for the future. That is why I call myself an Alberta patriot. Being Albertan is not an ethnicity. It is a mindset. I have met Ukrainians, Filipinos, and other immigrants who understand Alberta patriotism better than many people who were born here. What I saw left me disheartened. Homelessness. Addiction. A struggling downtown. Immigrants willing to talk. Homeless people willing to talk. But many comfortable lunch-hour Canadians just walking by, completely oblivious to what is happening around them. Years of bad government brought us here. And yet people still cannot explain what they are loyal to. youtu.be/x2rps-qWyg4

We don’t need more of the same empty Liberal promises that have made groceries more expensive for Canadian families. What we need is for the Carney Liberals to scrap their punitive taxes and get the government out of the way.

The previous PM is in America, cheering on America, with his American girlfriend, drinking from a plastic straw. While the current PM, just landed in Europe, & said “it’s good to be home,” while nearly all his assets & family are in America. Anyone else seeing this? 😭

I don't care how much Carney tries to sell his "New World Order" I did not vote for this, and I certainly do not want any part of it. Mark Carney can take his marching orders and shove them where the sun doesn't shine!

@gator_gum @PierrePoilievre Pierre Pigeon is moaning about a non recession because that's all he has. We joke that a fence post could get elected in Alberta if you hung a Conservative tag on it and Pigeon is proof of that.

@PierrePoilievre Mark Carney wants to increase domestic food production. Good for jobs. Good for farmers. Good for grocery prices. Pierre Poilievre is whining about "recession" instead. Why doesn't Poilievre support our farmers, Canadian jobs, and lowering food prices? Weird.

More costs. More taxes. More of the same Liberal empty promises on food prices. You said a year ago you would lower grocery prices. But your taxes and recession gave Canada the worst food inflation in the G7. You raised the industrial carbon tax on farm equipment, fertilizer and food processing. Your weak economy and weak dollar have lowered purchasing power and raised the cost of imported food. The Conservative plan is to suspend all fuel taxes for the rest of the year, end the industrial carbon tax, and cut inflationary spending so farmers can grow more for less and Canadians can afford groceries.

If you want a strong Alberta within Canada, you should probably vote in favor of a referendum. Not because it guarantees separation. Because it creates leverage. A stronger Alberta with more autonomy ultimately helps every province push back against the over-centralization of power in Ottawa. Strong provinces make a strong Canada.

DETACHED FROM REALITY Mark Carney just claimed the average FAMILY spends $800 per month on groceries or $10,000 per year. Has he gone to the grocery store? 4 steaks 🥩 is $100 only one meal If you ate BEEF 20 days a month x $100 that’s $2,000 without veggies, fruit or carbs

WOW. Trump confirmed he doesn’t want to renew CUSMA. He said he doesn’t need our cars, our energy, our lumber, none of it. Congratulations Liberals. You just obliterated Canada. If it happens, Carney will go down as the worst PM in history.

Tomorrow is Tax Freedom Day. That’s the day when the average family, has fulfilled its tax obligations, and paid all the taxes to the government. In other words, if you had to pay all the taxes, owed to all levels of government, upfront, you would be free of all taxes on June 9, and the rest of your earnings for the rest of the year, would be yours to keep. Essentially, the average family has worked for the government for nearly 6 months. So tomorrow, June 9th, is what’s known as Tax Freedom Day, marking the first day you keep what you earn. The Fraser Institute did a study & found that 43.5% of the average Canadian family’s income goes to taxes. And that’s before the $113 billion in deficits the federal and provincial governments are running this year. If you add those in, and the real Tax Freedom Day is June 25, meaning, you work for the government two weeks longer before you get to keep what you’ve earned.

Over the past few days Poilievre has been tweeting out the exact images and talking points of the RW Influencers. There is a clearly coordinated effort. Since calling for the end of political theatre he has ramped it up. Since calling to end divisive political rhetoric he has ramped up. It's a very sad state for Canadian politics when our Official Opposition and the RW Influencers are one in the same.

“If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu” -Carney 5 months later… *Canada is not at the table in CUSMA talks with Mexico* We’re officially on the menu. Hence why he’s literally saying MAGA. Funny how recklessness comes full circle.

You will not lose your Canadian passport in an independent Alberta. That's just pure fear-mongering by the "stay" side because they have no other argument. All they have is fear and nostalgia (for a Canada that basically no longer exists). Canada has fully recognized dual citizenship since 1977. There is no requirement to renounce Canadian citizenship when acquiring another. A Canadian-born person does not lose their citizenship simply because their province leaves Confederation. Canadian law protects citizenship by birth on Canadian soil. Most Albertans have deep family, cultural, and economic connections across Canada. None of those ties will be broken because of independence.
