Muslim NHS worker wins discrimination case after bosses allowed trans woman to use single-sex female toilets A Muslim policy advisor at NHS England, who has PTSD from a historic sexual assault, complained that her male colleague (a father of two who transitioned) was permitted to use the women’s toilets and changing rooms under the trust’s trans-inclusive policy. She raised formal concerns in 2024 after attending a mandatory Trans Awareness session and studying the policy, saying it left her feeling unsafe and triggered. Last week Leeds Employment Tribunal ruled in her favour on indirect sex discrimination and harassment, finding the policy unlawfully disadvantaged women including those with trauma or faith-based beliefs. She is expected to receive up to £25,000 in compensation, with a remedy hearing in August to decide the exact amount and possible policy recommendations for NHS England. The woman, who has worked at NHS England for nine years and is a mother of one, said: “This is a massive weight off my shoulders… it’s for all women.” NHS England has not yet commented publicly on the ruling.

I have never understood the Eastern and Northern European mindset of going on vacation during summer. When your city is 75 degrees and beautiful and everything is available, you go to Greece and pay $300 a day to turn yourself into a lobster. Instead of just... going in November.
