What you said makes no sense whatsoever. For a conservative, what matters is tradition without ruptures, though still allowing for progress. Nolan’s film is an aesthetic, historical, and cultural rupture. It betrays the original story, the country of origin, and the underlying culture. one of the beautiful things about cathy in the book is how the narrator starts out literally in her introduction telling us she is monstrous and then as the story goes he spends more and more time being like “but do we understand her” like the text wants you to see her fully!
