The court didn't press charges on my behalf, but I was able to keep myself and my children safe while he got treatment. They had access to previous calls/incidents to decide.

@PaigeChristieUK I don't know that you do :/ my son's asthma is triggered by getting sick, and his symptoms aren't as obvious. He was hospitalized last year for it, and I'm the only one (including his primary doctor) who knew he needed to go to the ER. That instinct is protective, so I embrace it

Discrimination found loopholes in practices like redlining, so more laws needed to be passed to prevent ways around it. That does not mean the language was too broad, it means racism found ways to subvert it.

I talked to some right-wing friends today and realized one of the biggest problems - they’re only seeing the crazies that are saying disgusting things about Charlie Kirk’s death. And that’s understandably driving rage. Others have said nice things, but that doesn’t make news. We don’t have to agree with what Charlie said. We don’t have to change our minds on anything. But in a situation like this, where a young man with a family dies tragically, basic decency requires our side to say - and to mean - we’re so sorry for your loss.

When I went to vote on the first day of early voting last year, the representative who currently holds this seat was at the polling place handing out cards. When I took the opportunity to tell him how absolutely horrible that was, his response to me was “well we can’t allow exceptions for rape or incest because then everyone will just start claiming it’s rape or incest.” So I’m taking his job.
