@the_flying_kick @GOGcom gog has somewhat of a higher quality of games so yes its harder to get published on there.. but that is only because steam will accept any piece of trash published by anyone and GOG has actual moderation

Question to the indie devs: Is it hard to put your game on @GOGcom? I'm asking because it is my preferred digital storefront to buy games, but only a handful of games are published there. Especially when it comes to #beatemups.

@ArikGenerick GOG patches old games to work on Windows systems* Valve does a lot of work on Proton and open source drivers to make sure games work on Linux systems.

I never want to hear that GKCs are "killing physical media" ever again. Especially after what Sony did today. At least you can still resell the bloody things, which you can't do with digital games. GKCs ARE physical media. They're just a very unconventional way of doing it.

@ymnis_v1 @TheCartelDel Are we really ignoring the fact PC is an open platform, where fucking piracy exists? No DRM is going to stop people from making backups of their games lmao.

that 🥷🏾 you love to hate
@TheCartelDel Cyberpunk works that way because CDPR allows it. plenty of Steam games do not. PC’s advantage is storefront competition and DRM flexibility, not “Steam means you own everything” 😭

Even if a game vanishes from the GOG storefront, it never leaves your library. Exactly as digital ownership ought to be.

@BluntzyD @Wario64 People just want to play the base game and have the option to buy it without the DLC. $80 bucks is alot of money.

Microsoft has unveiled Scout, a next-generation AI agent that turns Copilot into a persistent assistant for Windows 11. Unlike traditional AI assistants that only respond when asked, Scout runs continuously in the background and maintains context across multiple apps. Currently, Scout is available only for internal Microsoft use and a limited group of organizations through the Frontier private preview program. It is powered by OpenClaw technology. I’m just looking for how to remove this completely. Will share details soon.

@Pirat_Nation It's so weird that it's always Valve that is brought up when people bring up the word monopoly lmao. Like really, it's not Microsoft with their shitty AI infested OS, called Windows, or even Nvidia, where they want to destroy the idea of personal computing. People are dumb lol.

Valve co-founder Gabe Newell responded to accusations that Steam operates as a monopoly in the PC gaming market Addressing the criticism, Newell said gamers have “plenty of options” when buying games. According to him, players can choose from many digital stores, including rival platforms and stores run by game publishers themselves. Valve says Steam’s success comes from a service that both gamers and developers willingly choose.

@Lucid00 Exactly lol. Your Steam / PC library will follow you everywhere on any hardware you can think of. Desktops, Laptops, Handhelds, VR, and now ARM devices as well. No other gaming platform can provide that kind of value, not even Xbox play anywhere, since it's a per game basis.

@kev17111 @W_H_Trail @PlayerEssence @MizoChris They didn't. they said they are not making steam deck 2 right now because the technology is not there. which is an excuse because there is already more powerful PC handhelds then the steam deck they have been out for years. Steam deck just doesn't sell enough to make a second

@MizoChris You can't even officially buy a Steam Deck from Valve right now, Switch 2 already outsold Steam Deck several times over right now. Ain't nobody buying that shit man, sold worse than Wii U and PS Vita.
