@jeremyphoward @mjbommar there are certain things that should be protected imo. like the studio ghibli fad with generating images in their specific style. ai isn't teaching in that context. knowledge and expertise are great uses for ai for learning, augmenting, getting some examples.

@mjbommar Overall, gatekeeping access to knowledge and expertise is something that largely profits more the more privileged parts of society.

@ID_AA_Carmack John, let's assume you're right, and AI is just a tool. Unfortunately, in being right, AI is not simply a tool that allows others to create their own work. It's a tool that derives what it does from the work of others, building off the back of work already created.

@Edward_767 @toniadyson1010 @politvidchannel check the popular vote ratios. also, when Rs won this election, kamala conceded and admitted trump won, but for some reason maga demanded it to be called a landslide lol.

@toniadyson1010 @politvidchannel Why is it that when D's win, it's treated as a mandate and run roughshod over R's. BUT when R's win, D's howl it's no mandate and the R's must bend a knee to D's? How is a mandate defined? It's not a constitutional term.

@DoaAmerica @turtlemedic @suchnerve the post office deficit is due to the change in recent years where they have to pay pensions for retirees when they haven't even been close to retirement. imagine having to PREPAY the entire working wage of a 30 year old, that works 35 years. additional: apwu.org/usps-fairness-…

@turtlemedic @suchnerve There is a separate tax (gas) and trust fund set up to fund highways. Basically, you are paying a toll every time you buy gas or diesel. The post office is supposed to be self sufficient by charging to send mail. This isn’t hard to understand.

USPS doesn’t “lose” money. It costs money. It’s a service that benefits everyone. In a rational country, we wouldn’t even need to explain to grown adults how public services work, or why it’s a terrible idea to erode them.

@tbarty03 @joelw_762 @JonBowzerBauman Him admitting its "hard" isn't just about degree but how he does it. His voters all say the same thing: economy is bad, need prices down. That's the platform he ran on, he'll simply lower prices. Now, he'll say its difficult to bring things down. We'll see what he does.

Typical liberal response. Rather than rejoicing over the fact that Trump wants to fix the catastrophe Biden created, you’ll complain about whether it is ‘simple’ or hard to accomplish. At the end of the day, as long as it gets accomplished, who cares about the degree of complexity? I think we can both agree that if it was an easy task, Biden/Harris would have already done it.

@Huckleberry60 @ninaturner what should the govt, in your eyes, be? just a military? with your statement, the govt should NOT provide relief after hurricanes or floods, FEMA, FDA, SSA should not exist, etc. Why bother having elections and legislative bodies? What decisions would they be making?

@kevvrites @ninaturner Here is the simplest answer to your question: Sometimes bad things happen. It's not government's job to remedy that.

Yes, the cashier at Walmart should be able to afford rent and groceries with their paycheck. Yes, the person with cancer and $3 in their bank account should be able to treat their cancer without going into debt.

@nocapviews @Warrior_334 @Sbarker345 @JDCocchiarella yes, i understand that net worth is misleading as most of his assets are in company stock which is locked up. i was just curious to see new perspectives, as i wasnt sure what % america has for the highest bracket.

@kevvrites @Warrior_334 @Sbarker345 @JDCocchiarella He pays tax on his earnings. Over 11 billion. The value of his companies is not earnings. What you feel is sadly based on not understanding how things work. Have you considered getting an education?

@RichardBeckV @Warrior_334 @JDCocchiarella a billion dollars is very different from a million. elon has an obscene amt of money. "most" of it is in assets, yes, but do you think he doesn't make income off savings, cash, and interest/dividends? but yes, politicians should not be able to buy/sell individual stock.

@Warrior_334 @JDCocchiarella Really, you're worried about Elon? What about lifelong politicians who have become millionaires while working for the government? Elon's wealth is valuation in his companies. It's not like the dude has half a trillion dollars in the bank that he plays with like scrooge mcduck.

@Warrior_334 @Sbarker345 @JDCocchiarella He paid nearly 12 billion in taxes. He isn't worth 350 billion his companies are. The top one percent of earners pay over 70 percent of all tax collected. The tax the rich ideology is not rooted in reality. It's rooted in marxism/communism.

@Huckleberry60 @iipeppermintt @ninaturner This post is about healthcare and living wages, which is why I'm focusing on those. The govt is responsible for a whole variety of things. Food, military, health, support systems. Why are you "interested" that I didn't mention the military? X limits 260 char lol

No it's not. Society and government are not the same thing. Government has a specific role. That role is specified in the Constitution. Some of what you mentioned is a legitimate role of the federal government. Most of that is not. Interesting that you left out protection of the nation. Instead you focus on what you seem to thing government should be giving to us and doing for us. Healthcare is not one of those things. The military is...but you don't mention that. Interesting.

@Huckleberry60 @ninaturner the way i see it, conservatives are the ones that want lower taxes, but they still want to fund more govt projects to secure border and military, which will cost $. to get this money they want to pull funds from support programs like SocSec and the ACA. is that wrong?

@Huckleberry60 @ninaturner i keep seeing "taxation is theft" when taxes pay for real things that benefit americans. i consider theft an issue of personal gain - if a guy steals your watch, that guy profits solely. what do you mean "the crap they feed us?" who is "they"? who is dependant on the govt?

@kevvrites @ninaturner Catastrophic Coverage solves that problem. But, here's the problem with your question...it assumes the current paradigm. It assumes future evolution relative to what we're used to now. As to the gist of your question...whose responsibility SHOULD it be if not our own?

@Huckleberry60 @ninaturner im alive today. who gets responsibility for that? the docs who went to college? the govt subsidizing my treatment? its such a convoluted issue that isnt black and white. its not "taxes bad" or "taxes good" or anything. we depend on other ppl even if we dont know them

@Huckleberry60 @ninaturner what i do know is that 100 years ago i would just die. now, with science, i get chemo, radiation, and drugs that control my seizures. if you take life "your way", you need to develop drugs urself, make them safe, etc etc. due to society raising docs and ppl studying cancer,
