16 Years of Enforced Disappearance of Party Leader Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch — BNM Holds Protest in London Saturday, June 28, 2025 | Reference: PRBNM55/2025 thebnm.org/protests/24602/ Photos: thebnm.org/footages/23486/ Video Report: youtube.com/shorts/3R2nvjC… The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organized a protest in front of the British Prime Minister’s residence at 10 Downing Street, London. The demonstration marked the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture and the 16th anniversary of the enforced disappearance of BNM leader Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch. BNM members from across the UK, members of the Baloch community, and human rights activists participated in the protest. Holding banners and placards, the participants condemned the ongoing state repression and enforced disappearances in Balochistan. Speakers stated that enforced disappearances in Balochistan have escalated into a severe humanitarian crisis. For years, Pakistani state institutions have been forcibly disappearing Baloch individuals and inflicting profound suffering on their families. Yet, the Baloch nation remains resolute in its struggle for freedom and sovereignty over its homeland. Addressing Dr. Deen Mohammad Baloch’s case, leaders recalled that his daughter, Sammi Deen Baloch, undertook one of the world’s longest protest marches. Thousands of mothers and daughters continue to raise their voices in Balochistan. Senior politician Wahid Kambar Baloch remains in secret detention, held in a torture cell after his abduction. Meanwhile, human rights defenders like Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with several journalists, political leaders, and lawyers, are imprisoned in Pakistani dungeons. The speakers urged the international community and human rights organizations to break their silence on the atrocities in Balochistan and to take concrete steps to end Pakistan’s state terrorism and the ongoing enforced disappearances. BNM leaders emphasized that despite state oppression, enforced disappearances, and killings, the Baloch nation remains steadfast in its struggle for freedom and human rights. #AntiTortureDay #EndEnforcedDisappearances #DrDeenMohammadBaloch #Balochistan

In Memory of Lala Lateef, “Lala the Brother” On the early morning of May 24, Pakistani forces murdered my cousin and friend, a journalist, Lateef Baloch, in Mashkai, Balochistan. It was not just the killing of a journalist, it was the extinguishing of one of the most gentle, resilient, and courageous souls in our people. Affectionately known as Lala Lateef in our town, as he was loved for his humility, his kind heart, and his unwavering dedication to others. He was a man who greeted everyone with warmth, who helped without asking, who stood firm without ever raising his voice. It is no surprise that the people of Mashkai called him Lala, an elder brother, not by age, but by spirit. Lateef Baloch was a journalist who reported from the shadows, from Mashkai, where internet is a dream and phone signals barely exist. He wrote despite the silence around him, he wrote the everyday suffering of the Baloch people. His work was dangerous, and he knew it. But he never stopped. This was not the first tragedy to strike out this family. In March this year, his son was abducted and killed by the same forces along with other eight close family members. His brother, my cousin Rashid Baloch, was abducted, murdered, and his body dumped in 2011. Another younger brother, Khalid a teacher of Balochi language, was abducted too, but returned after months of torture and disappearance. Lateef himself was abducted twice in the past, yet he always came back, and always returned to his work. He never let fear break his will. Journalism for him was not a career, it was resistance. But my memories of Lala Lateef go back much further. In the early 1990s, I was just a schoolboy when I first heard the anthem of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and other revolutionary songs, not from radio or public gatherings, but from his tape recorder at full volume at our home. He filled our home with those songs, and unknowingly, filled me with a lifelong love for revolutionary music and politics. That was my first awakening, and it came from him. Alongside Lateef Baloch, Akhtar Nadeem, Meeya Niaz, and myself, we started the first music learning club in Mashkai. It was a small act of defiance , a cultural rebellion in a land where expression was criminalized. Through that club, we gave voice to our dreams and our defiance, and Lala Lateef was at the heart of it all. His friend Khair Jan Bahmani was our music teacher (Ustad) in that club. He was more than a family member. He was a brother, a comrade, someone who shaped my political awakening in the beginning. He was in police custody in the 1990s during clashes between the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) and some religious groups. Dr. Deen Jan and Dr. Wahid (a veterinary doctor) were also jailed in the same case alongside him. We used to bring them food from our home. In other words, he had been part of the struggle for a cause since a very young age. Today, the forces have killed him, may believe they silenced a voice. But they only deepened an echo. His legacy lives in every young journalist risking truth, in every Baloch song sung in defiance, in every whisper of resistance that refuses to die. Still Mashkai calls him Lala, the brother.

Killing of Farmer Sheerdil Baloch in Drachko May 21, 2026 -Drachko Dasht, Turbat PAANK strongly condemns the killing of Sheerdil Baloch, son of Qadir Bakhsh, an elderly farmer who lost his life after FC personnel reportedly opened fire near his farmland in Drachko Dasht district, Kech. According to local reports, Sheerdil was peacefully working on his land. This tragic incident reflects the continuing climate of violence, fear, and impunity in Balochistan, where families are repeatedly forced to mourn the loss of their loved ones without accountability or justice. #StopBalochGenocide

Today marks one year since the martyrdom of Lala Lateef Baloch, a courageous journalist, truth-teller, and voice of the oppressed, who was martyred by Pakistani forces in the early hours of 24 May 2025 inside his home in Mashkay, Awaran. In front of his family, armed men stormed his house and silenced his voice with bullets, but they could never silence the truth he stood for. Lala Lateef Baloch dedicated his life to exposing the suffering of the Baloch nation. Despite threats, persecution, and the murder of his loved ones including his son Saif Lateef and brother Rashid Baloch, he continued his journalistic mission with courage and dignity. His assassination was not only an attack on one journalist , it was an attack on truth, freedom of expression, and the collective conscience of Balochistan. On his first martyrdom anniversary, we pay tribute to his courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the Baloch nation. International press freedom organizations, including the Committee to Protect Journalists condemned the killing of journalist Abdul Latif Baloch and called for accountability. His anniversary is a reminder for international community to hold Pakistan accountable. #LalaLateefBaloch #BalochGenocide #MartyrsOfBalochistan

According to reports, Irfan Ullah was forcibly abducted during a late-night raid on 6 May 2026 from his home in Killi Habib, Quetta. The abductors were personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). PAANK expresses grave concern over the continued rise in enforced disappearances across Balochistan, where students and civilians are being unlawfully detained without due process. The violent raid on the home of Shaheed Zareef Baloch is part of the ongoing repression faced by Baloch families. Security forces entered the house at night, confiscated women’s belongings, damaged household property, and terrorized family members already grieving the loss of their loved one. The targeting of families after custodial killings has become a recurring reality in Balochistan, creating fear and insecurity within entire communities. Shaheed Zareef Baloch was forcibly disappeared on 26 December 2025. Within a day, his tortured and mutilated body was abandoned near a neighboring house. His body bore signs of severe torture, including burns inflicted on his tongue, constituting torture and cruel, inhuman treatment prohibited under international law. These incidents form part of a broader pattern of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and abuses repeatedly reported in Balochistan. The continued harassment of families after the killing of their relatives reflects the absence of accountability and protection for basic human rights. Raids on civilian homes, humiliation of women, confiscation of personal belongings, and intimidation of traumatized families are violations of fundamental human dignity and justice. @UNHumanRights , @hrw @AndreaBV_SR_HRD , @profbensaul @FrontLineHRD @EUPakistan #StopBalochGenocide #EndEnforcedDisappearances #StopStateTerrorism #StopCollectivePunishmnet

Paank strongly condemns the killing of renowned Brahui poet, writer, translator, and academic Professor Ghamkhwar Hayat in Noshki, #Balochistan. His assassination is yet another devastating loss for Baloch intellectual and cultural life. Professor Ghamkhwar Hayat, whose real name was Muhammad Khan, was a respected literary figure from Noshki and the author of more than 15 books in Brahui and Balochi literature. A lecturer since 2014 and Assistant Professor at Degree College Noshki, he dedicated his life to education, language, and the preservation of Baloch identity through poetry, translation, and scholarship. He was targeted by Pakistan Army backed death squads near Kili Mengal, Noshki. We demand an immediate, transparent, and international investigation into his killing. Paank has been documenting and investigating such incidents and believes that the continued killings, enforced disappearances, and targeting of Baloch intellectuals, writers, students, journalists, and activists are part of a systematic campaign carried out through state-backed death squads operating under the patronage of Pakistani security forces. Professor Ghamkhwar Hayat’s killing follows a long pattern of violence that has robbed the Baloch nation of its scholars, poets, teachers, and voices of resistance. For years, Baloch families and human rights defenders have documented cases involving extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances across Balochistan, while perpetrators continue to enjoy impunity. The assassination of intellectuals is an attack not only on individuals, but on the collective history, language, culture, and identity of the Baloch people. We call on the international community, the United Nations, and global human rights organizations to urgently intervene and hold Pakistan accountable for ongoing human rights violations in Balochistan. Silencing intellectuals will not silence the truth. #GhamkhwarHayat #Balochistan #HumanRights #Paank #JusticeForBaloch #StopTargetingBalochIntellectuals

We strongly condemn the threats by Pakistani authorities to shut down the protest camp of the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) and silence its peaceful struggle against enforced disappearances. For more than 6000 days, VBMP’s camp has stood as a symbol of resistance, justice, and the demand for the safe release of thousands of forcibly disappeared Baloch men, women, and children abducted by the Pakistani military and intelligence agencies. Threatening peaceful protesters and attempting to end this long-standing movement is a blatant attack on fundamental human rights and freedom of expression. Such tactics cannot erase the pain of the families nor silence the voices demanding truth and justice. #EndEnforcedDisappearances

During the military operation, the houses of Master Niaz Baloch and Master Huzoor Bakhsh Baloch were reportedly bulldozed, while date palm trees in front of their homes were also destroyed. This incident reflects the ongoing policy of collective punishment being carried out across Balochistan, where entire families are targeted through enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, harassment, and destruction of property. Previously, the Pakistan Army forcibly disappeared two sons of Master Niaz Baloch — Zaheer Niaz and Mehraj Niaz — on 28 February 2025. 28 May: Announcement and Schedule of Youm-e-Asrokh Programs The Baloch National Movement (BNM) will organise protests, peaceful marches, and awareness campaigns in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and South Korea against the impacts of the illegal nuclear tests conducted by Pakistan in occupied Balochistan 28 years ago. On 28 May 1998, the Pakistani state carried out five simultaneous underground nuclear tests in the Raskoh mountains of Chaghi, Balochistan, without giving any prior warning to the local Baloch population. Even after 28 years, the devastating effects of these nuclear tests continue to impact the lives, health, and environment of the people of Balochistan. The BNM UK Chapter will organise awareness campaigns on 26 May 2026 at Trafalgar Square London, King’s Parade, Cambridge City, Cambridge City and Piccadilly Gardens Manchester to mark 28 May 1998, Youm-e-Asrokh. The Netherlands Chapter will organise a rally on 28 May 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM in Amsterdam. The rally will begin at Amsterdam Centraal and proceed towards Dam Square. The purpose of the rally is to raise awareness about the ongoing suffering and challenges faced by the people affected by Pakistan’s nuclear tests in occupied Balochistan. The South Korea Chapter will organise a protest demonstration and peaceful march in Busan on 28 May 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at City Spot, Nampo-dong. We appeal to all people to join us in raising their voices for justice, spreading awareness, and expressing solidarity with the victims who continue to suffer from the consequences of these nuclear tests. thebnm.org/chapters/28401/

One month has passed since the enforced disappearance of DaadShah Baloch, yet his family continues to endure fear, pain, and an unending wait for answers. This is his second enforced disappearance, exposing a dangerous pattern of abuse and intimidation. The silence of the authorities deepens the suffering of his loved ones and strengthens the culture of impunity that protects perpetrators from accountability. Enforced disappearance is a grave violation of international law and conventions ratified by the state, including protections against arbitrary detention and torture. The continued illegal detention of DaadShah Baloch reflects the ongoing human rights crisis in Balochistan, where families are forced to live between hope and despair. No family should suffer the trauma of uncertainty while state institutions deny truth and justice. The international community and human rights organizations must raise urgent concern over this violation and press for his immediate release. Justice demands accountability, transparency, and an end to enforced disappearances. @AndreaBV_SR_HRD @profbensaul @amnestysasia @hrw #ReleaseDaadShahBaloch #ReleaseDadShahBaloch

Demolition of Civilian Homes in Mashkai Date: 13 May 2026 PAANK strongly condemns the reported demolition of civilian homes by the Pakistan Army in Peer Mashkai, Kallar area of Awaran district on 13 May 2026. Later, the tortured and mutilated body of Mehraj Niaz was dumped on 3 March 2025, while Zaheer Niaz faced the same fate on 26 March 2025. Their killings were widely viewed as acts of extrajudicial execution and collective punishment against the family. PAANK urges international human rights organizations and the United Nations to take immediate notice of these grave violations and hold the perpetrators accountable.
