At the United Nations Human Rights Council 61st Session in #Geneva, Paank’s Media Coordinator Jamal Baloch (@Jam__Baloch) highlighted serious human rights violations in #Balochistan, including enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings under Pakistan’s authorities. These concerns are intensifying in the context of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. We call for an independent international fact-finding mission and full accountability in accordance with international law.

Geneva: BNM’s formal activities at the UN Human Rights Council’s 61st session began today and will continue until 28 March 2026. #BNMGlobalCampaign BNM member Saleem Ellahi Baloch addressed the Council, speaking not only as an activist but also as a brother. Today marks 12 years since his elder brother, Zahid Baloch, former Chairman of @BSO__AZAD, was forcibly disappeared by the Pakistan army, with no information about his fate. He also highlighted the killing of his brother Shah Jahan in 2025, illegal detention of @MahrangBaloch_ and Baloch Yakjehti Committee leaders and the ongoing threats, displacement and collective punishment faced by families of activists in Balochistan. #HRC61 #BNMatHRC61

Today, on International Women’s Day, women around the world speak about rights, equality, and freedom. For Baloch women, these words are not slogans. They are the language of survival. For decades, Baloch women were expected to remain inside their homes. But when fathers, brothers, sons and husbands began to disappear, silence became impossible. Mothers started knocking on the doors of police stations and courts. Sisters carried photographs of the missing through streets and highways. Daughters grew up in protest camps instead of playgrounds. From Quetta to Karachi and Islamabad, Baloch women have marched, protested and sat for days and nights demanding one simple answer: where are our loved ones? Today many of those same women are themselves behind bars. Some face fabricated cases. Others are dragged through police stations and courts. Some are imprisoned simply for asking where their missing family members are. But even prison has not silenced them. The story of Baloch women is a story of pain that refuses to disappear. Every protest camp, every photograph held in trembling hands, every mother waiting by the door at night carries the same question. Where are our loved ones? On this International Women’s Day, we remember the courage of Baloch mothers, sisters and daughters who refused to disappear with their loved ones. Their struggle is not only the struggle of the Baloch nation. It is the struggle of every woman who refuses to accept injustice in silence.
