Khalid Abdalla
@khalidabdalla
Actor & many things, struggling for a better world. Known by some for my roles in film & #TheCrown. Known by others for what joins the dots.

Recently I watched actor @khalidabdalla ’s play Nowhere which opens onto a wider conversation about protest, endurance, and what political mobilisation leaves behind when it does not topple power.

Together we can make history, and make this beautiful reimagining of the Palestinian Lullaby, Yamma Mwel El Hawa Christmas #1. We need to make sure the world remembers Gaza this Christmas, and that occupied Bethlehem is in Palestine, calling to be free. To get to Christmas #1 we need 100k people across the UK to buy and download the single by midnight on 18 December. A fraction of the number of people who have been on protests over these past two years. So we can do this. The track costs less than £2. Head to togetherforpalestine.org, follow the links and PRE-ORDER NOW. All profits will go to the Together for Palestine Fund which is held by @chooselove to support Palestinian-led organisations: @taawonpalestine, @thepcrf and @palestinianmedicalreliefsoc.. The song has been made by a star-studded group of British and Palestinian musicians - Brian Eno, Nai Barghouti, Celeste, Dan Smith (Bastille), Leigh-Anne, Mabel, Neneh Cherry, TYSON, Lana Lubany, Peter Gabriel and more. The aim: to raise vital funds for Gaza’s children and families and reach Christmas #1. I had the honour of introducing the world premiere of the song yesterday @PSCupdates protest.

Gaza after the ceasefire is defined by the ‘yellow line’ — drawn by Israel, and dividing the strip in two. 54% of Gaza is now inaccessible to its population; Palestinians approaching or crossing the line from west to east are met with lethal force. Meanwhile, Israel continues to attack civilians and buildings west of the line, such that nowhere in Gaza is safe. Our evidence suggests that Israel seeks to make the ‘yellow line’ permanent, as ‘reconstruction’ plans normalise this new stage of Israel’s occupation: frames.forensic-architecture.org/gaza/ceasefire
