The petrodollar was built on a simple 1974 agreement: the US provides military protection for the Gulf, and in exchange, oil is priced exclusively in US Dollars.  Now the US is creating the conflict making it hard to get oil. Defeats the purpose, eh?

Do you understand what just happened? The man who told you LLMs aren't real intelligence just raised $1 billion to build what he thinks IS. > @ylecun said "The AI we have right now, Every single one of them are glorified autocomplete" and he said this for 2 years straight > The entire internet called him a boomer > AI fans ratio'd him basically every week > He didn't argue back > He just raised a billion dollars and started building He launched AMI Labs, Advanced Machine Intelligence to build something called world models. AI that actually understands reality, not just predicts the next word and hopes it sounds right. Will he reach AGI first? Here's why he might, everyone else is trying to brute-force intelligence by feeding more text into bigger models. LeCun is building AI the way humans actually learn. A baby doesn't learn physics by reading a textbook. It drops a cup and watches it fall. That's what world models do and that's a different species of AI entirely. The actual future just got funded. And it looks nothing like what you've been paying for.

@oasishealthapp That "16x higher PCBs" stat is from 2004. In 2026, many farmed varieties are actually testing cleaner than wild because we control their diet. Also, calling an antioxidant (Astaxanthin) "petroleum dye" is like calling a carrot "orange engine oil." 🥕

Farmed salmon tested as the most contaminated protein in America - PCB levels 16x higher than wild salmon - Artificially dyed pink with a synthetic petroleum-derived pigment - 2.6x fattier than wild, loaded with inflammatory omega-6s - Feed may contain ethoxyquin a pesticide banned by the EU - Mice fed farmed salmon gained 2x the body weight of controls eating the same calories - The FDA hasn't updated its safety standard for commercial fish since 1984 Look for wild-caught from Alaska or the Pacific

@Geiger_Capital Using a population is a poor benchmark that invites easy counterarguments. Using total GDP is a much better benchmark, where the two cities are much closer with a slight lead for New York. It still conveys the point. The variance is still extreme, but not as extreme.

Been playing with #OpenClaw since its ClawdBot days, right as it was catching fire. It is an amazing application, very addictive, infinitely extensible, and customizable. Some of the ways I am using it: - Targeted morning briefings on news, stocks & futures, AI developments from X/Reddit, plus my schedule, tasks, and emails. This basically replaced doom-scrolling in bed and actually feels productive. - Coding: last year I moved from Cursor to Claude Code and the terminal. Nowadays I use Telegram to ask the agents to code, create PRs, ask another agent to review, and iterate! Not sure this is “productive,” but it’s a lot of fun. - Email & Calendar: checking, summarizing, and pruning emails and automatically capturing action items. I can ask the agent to research a proposal from an email, ask questions, and be way more informed, all from Telegram. - Obsidian: I suck at capturing and organizing notes. The agents handle them now, and they interview me to capture daily notes and file everything into Obsidian. It’s backed by iCloud, so I can read them on my iPhone. - Never used Telegram before this month, now I am on it constantly. The only contacts I chat with there are my bots! - Every day is a surprise (so far the pleasant kind) with OpenClaw! I really think OpenClaw unlocked the framework for the ultimate "personal AI agent”. You do need a bit of technical know-how to use it today, but I’m sure someone is developing a non-nerd version, and when that comes out, this will truly hockey-stick. Huge kudos to @steipete

To elaborate, it’s critical to 1) educate your children well so that that can be productive and civil 2) have a society in which people can be productive and civil with each other, ideally with good legals and capital market systems, and 3) stay out of wars, domestic and international. Successful countries are the ones that do these things well and get the fundamentals right, such as earning more than they spend and having more assets than liabilities.

Bitcoin, gold, silver, metals, and miners in a single ETF! What do they have in common? All are ways investors position to benefit from currency debasement. Meet $BPRO Actively managed, to position for cycles —
Bitwise@Bitwise

Today, the debasement trade has a new weapon in its arsenal. Introducing the Bitwise Proficio Currency Debasement ETF (NYSE: BPRO), a first-of-its-kind, actively managed investment strategy targeting assets poised to benefit from the eroding purchasing power of fiat currencies worldwide—such as gold, bitcoin, silver, other precious metals, and mining equities. Why BPRO? Because we’re not alone in thinking that fiat money has some big problems. Consider: - The U.S. dollar has lost 40% of its purchasing power since 2006 - U.S. debt has roughly quintupled in the past 20 years to nearly $40T - Interest payments on debt are >$1T, more than national defense spending in fiscal year 2026 BPRO seeks to give investors a way to shield portfolios from the unstoppable train of reckless spending, rising deficits, and money printing by governments worldwide by investing in debasement-resistant assets that can’t be easily inflated or manipulated. The fund combines Bitwise’s deep crypto expertise with Proficio Capital Partners’ extensive experience in precious metals and other debasement-resistant assets. Founded in 2014, Proficio is a $5 billion investment advisory firm serving high-net-worth families, businesses, and foundations, and it’s spent the last 12 years refining the currency debasement strategy that BPRO is based on. We’re thrilled to partner with Proficio to give investors a new way to access the debasement trade. Easy money erodes wealth. BPRO helps protect it.
