I believe the book of Job was written specifically chapter 40&41 about actual megafauna that existed. I think the leviathan was megalania and due to the flood changing the sea level globally made the behemoth unfindable. Every culture has mythological serpents that breathe fire, other creatures that breathe fire need an explanation like being the son of the god of fire but not serpents. Thats an ancient memory. That ancient memory is man's attempt to describe venom as what it does, compared to the most wonderous thing they had: fire. The only large megafauna we know that has venom is megalania/komodo dragon/monitor lizard. So either the ancestors of jews lived where this group of lizards roamed OR ancient civilizations prior to the flood were MUCH much more connected to the point that stories thousands of miles away could be shared and believed enough to tell the stories to your children.

You’re treating forgiveness like it wipes the slate spiritually but still leaves people permanently disqualified relationally. That’s not how the Gospel talks about repentance. If someone has truly repented, they’re not “a person with a past who must pay forever” they’re a new creation. It’s fine if someone wants to marry a virgin. That’s a standard you can set for yourself I think it’s a good standard you should strive for that. But some people are called to marry someone who happened to live a previous life of sin. You’re talking about what people “deserve,” but Scripture is clear that none of us deserve anything before God. Everything we receive is by grace, not merit.

Virgins should be with virgins (male or female) "Born again" Christians likewise should be with "born again" Christians (male or female) If you're a virgin, have some standards for yourself and BE with a virgin. You are better off alone than to be with a girl who has had an extensive past. If you've been truly abstinent, then you deserve someone following the same path because it will work out better in the long term for both of you. If you are someone with an extensive past, you don't deserve to be with a virgin. Does this mean I think you don't deserve anything or you're not eligible for forgiveness? Obviously not, but you have paid the toll, and you need to pay the consequences for it.

Professing Christian men who: 1) hate on women for their sinful pasts, shame and attack their testimonies, even when those women have had a radical change of heart since coming to Christ 2) downplay the moral harm of their own porn consumption and the damage it causes, or even justify its use, and blame women for their own sexual sins, 3) boast about their own superiority and talk about virgin women as if they're some sort of sexual reward they're entitled to They don't come across as men worthy of either salvation or marriage, since that attitude is wholly incompatible with what the Christian Gospel represents and with what a healthy relationship with both God and other people requires.

@HeraldOfPurity The problem is with the modern Western style church. It's completely subverted with its therapeutic feminized style. It never talks of courage, honor, valor, sacrifice, or righteousness. You don't want to understand the male psyche and that's why you can't draw them in.

@DefiantBaptist I don't get that we can't do two things. Let's urge both young men and women to remain celibate until marriage. Let's offer forgiveness to both women and men that repent and urge them to marry and start godly families. Why can't we do both?

Unpleasant reality: Currently there is a contingent of Very Online men trying to reconcile their sexual addictions with their attraction to "based" Christianity by selling a weird Islam-meets-Reddit patriarchialism. These men are best ignored, but they are benefiting enormously from the reactionary, anti-"Big Eva" rhetoric that men who know better have been using the last 5 years in the service of their own evangelical turf war. Now, some smart, sincere, genuinely Christian men are in the position of having to care for their own brand by taking seriously the voices of those other addicted, resentful, deeply deceived men.
