@llewelyn20 Our Principal, James Wilson, was brilliant. Poss not everyone would agree, but he lead with such an outward calm and enabled the staff to get on with supporting our students. From my pov, we did well.

I learnt so much from that time of utter chaos. A lot of the guidance was contradictory, impractical and almost impossible to implement. But the one fact I knew for sure was that if things went wrong, it would be me (and only me) thrown under the bus.

Covid as a HT was just so wild. More than it seemed. Between 2020 and 2022, 13 unique guidance docs were sent to school settings. These were updated 320 times in two years, averaging 3 updates a week. Each update meant checking, rewriting and resending to staff/parents. Mad.
