Because from where I'm sitting: — Brokers who get sued aren't writing you a check. They're vetting you harder so they don't get sued again. — The carriers filtered out by that tighter vetting are the small ones — not the mega-fleets with compliance departments. — Insurance underwriters just got a reason to raise premiums and reject more applications. — Billboard attorneys just got a new defendant with deep pockets — and they'll name you in the same lawsuit. — Load boards shrink, not expand. So tell me, specifically — what part of this ruling helps your operation next Monday morning? Not being sarcastic. Make the case. I'm reading every reply.

@trucker63068 You’re one of many on X that have neglected to state the most important part of this ruling. This should stop brokers from using unsafe unskilled foreigners who disregard every facet of safety in our industry and drive up insurance rates.

When you’re not in business, you cannot see the forest through the trees. This ruling will hurt small carriers, the insurance requirements the enhanced vetting on every load. The tracking, on and on. Anyone that was barely holding on waiting for the cycle to get better, unfortunately might go out anyway. After the lawyers finish writing the new carrier package and requirements. Only carriers with strong capital will be able to survive. You really don’t have a clue……

@EricLDaugh Isn't this akin to holding the customer responsible because their DoorDash driver was unsafe? Most booking takes place online or on the phone. How are they supposed to discern if the driver the trucking company hired is safe? Seems like an odd decision.

I heard some secondhand information from a driver that the his fake ELD provider is taking the week off for the DOT check week (so temporarily not falsifying logs for the week) because the DOT is going to be using Cameras to log the locations of the drivers/trucks. they can’t fake the logbook.🤯 let’s hope this is going to be business as usual for the DOT.
