Today is launch day for my latest historical novel, "An Unsuitable Knight" Roger de Hauteville is unsuitable in more ways than one. His fellow Normans call him a barbarian. His warrior family mistrusts his hesitation to us violence. And as the 12th son of a poor knight, he's an inappropriate suitor for his beloved, Judith d'Evreux, the cousin of William the Conqueror. But Roger and Judith won't let silly things like social pressure, money, or power stop them. They embark on a risky venture to be together, even if they need to remake the world and overcome the schemes of two courts. Their story was true. Their wills were unbelievable. This week in 1085, the Muslim city of Toledo surrendered to Alfonso VI of Castile, setting off the Reconquista. It also set off the events of The Thief and the Nightingale. Read the untold story of the consequences of that day. amazon.com/dp/B0DB6NHY93 #histfic #kindle

I just read that Andy Serkis' Animal Farm adaption ends positively because he wanted to show that the people can defeat dictators. 1) Animal Farm is about the lies of communism, not dictators. 2) Napoleon winning is the point. It's meant to say, "You better avoid a communist future because toy won't be able to reverse it if you make that mistake."

@Lostvoyageur @Charlygotyou The number of days is immaterial. The real question is what is her child's grades. Mastering the material should be the only standard, whether it takes 90, 180 or 270 days

@Charlygotyou How many days have you pulled your daughter out of school this year? That’s maybe why. You don’t want her to have to redo her school year cause of her mom’s decisions do you?

I excused my daughter’s absence from school today, but it was denied. How are you going to tell me, the parent, that the reason I allowed my child to stay home isn’t accepted?

@davepl1968 @Charlygotyou Letting a child stay home a day is not the cause of our school system being so terrible. Blind policy that doesn't respond to the needs of individual children ranks much higher on that list.

@Charlygotyou Because you can't excuse truancy. Don't know what your reason was, of course, but it's up to them if it meets the standard or not.

@samrac92 #2. It doesn't even stop. 3 is crossing over traffic, and so is 1. It should go 2, 3, then 1.

I could think of no better date to start developing my next novel, featuring Octavian and Livia Drusilla, than on the Ides of March. I've been wanting to bring Rome to life for a lifetime. That time is now.

On this day in 1086... the Muslim taifa kingdoms plead for help from the Almoravids of northern Africa. This fateful decision will cost them their kingdoms. Read what happened next in The Thief and the Nightingale! bit.ly/4urdtDz #spain #histfic #medievaltwitter #new

I used the word "just" 369 times and "still" 176 times in my 67000 word manuscript. Yikes. Are there any other words I need to search and remove?

You've read about Yasin and Halla, Henry and Niccolo. Coming April 17 is the true story of Judith d'Evreux and Roger de Hauteville, who insisted on being together even if it meant remaking the world... which they did. I can't wait to show you the cover! #comingsoon #histfic

Today in 1104, the Arsenal of Venice, a vast shipyard that produced the fastest and most agile galleys in the Middle Ages, began operation. The Arsenal made Venice the ruler of the Mediterranean. Read all about it in "House Aretoli": amazon.com/dp/B0CDCMQZN3 #histfic #venice #new
