I’ve never been able to come up with a favorite song but I have no hesitation in saying that I CANNOT STAND Mariah’s Carey’s “Always Be My Baby”. Or most of her music.

@emily_dufton Teaching a 2-3 load, advising senior thesis projects, and various other departmental duties plus single parenting during the pandemic...I feel lucky to be surviving! Writing and researching are but a dream right now...

I was just talking about this with a friend who is teaching but not TT. He can't keep up. Researching/writing is a full-time job, so is teaching. And higher ups are disappointed when people aren't superhero enough to do both perfectly

I have five straight 30 minute Zoom meetings today that each start on the hour. This is quite possibly the most annoying Zoom schedule there is.

At least if meetings are back to back, you don’t end up with unusable blocks of time in your day. This 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off is just not conducive to productivity.

@kscincotta Yup. When my office was half a block from the WH, I was issued what they referred to as a “fume hood” to keep at my desk.

It never, ever occurred to me that there are gas masks under the seats in Congress like life preservers on airplanes, but of course there are.
