@ABCaustralia⁩ ⁦@abcnews⁩ I’m not picking either side but there is “only” 1% difference and yet the journalist has “only” written “only” about Dutton??? Struggling to find a point of difference, which is the point of the story???

@DavidPocock Men have committed more than 30 murders so far this year. Change the words to put the focus on the perpetrators. 👍 Thank you for posting and taking a stand on the subject. 👍

30 women have been killed in Australia this year. That's more than 2 a week. It is a national emergency. Men's violence against women is a men's issue. We need to step up, take responsibility, drive social change & ensure women are safe in our country.

@AlboMP⁩ ⁦@ABCaustralia⁩ Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said "horrifying" rates of murder by men…. Change the language. It’s murder by men. Violence by men. Publish his photo, not hers. We changed from king hit to cowards punch? abc.net.au/news/2024-04-2…

@latingle⁩ Great article. With reference to the Sex Discrimination Commissioners report, what I don’t understand is how the body that sets the laws for the land doesn’t apply the same laws to itself. Businesses are prosecuted for this stuff. abc.net.au/news/2024-04-2…

@abcnews⁩ ⁦@ABCaustralia⁩ 41.9 square metres is very small for a house with this many rooms, plus kitchen, etc The house, which spans 41.9 square meters and features three bedrooms, a study and a theatre room, Great story though 👍 abc.net.au/news/2024-04-1…

@MFWitches Agree. Put the focus on the perpetrator. “This is the twentieth male this year to commit murder.” Would make for a bad bar graph. And change it to “violence by males”. Similar to how we changed “king hit” to “cowards punch”.

There’s a school of thought which says we shouldn’t say the names of men who’ve allegedly killed women, or publish their pictures, witches. But posting pics of the murdered women and telling their stories doesn’t work at all in reducing the outrageous death toll, does it? So what else can we do but post a pic of Lachlan Young (who’s just been charged with the murder of Hannah McGuire) and ask all witches but particularly our male witches: you all say “real men” don’t murder women, but this looks like a real man to us, doesn’t he? He’s an adult male, isn’t he? He’s real, isn’t he? So just what is it that makes him allegedly kill a woman and burn her body because (allegedly) she rejected him as a partner? Yeah, we know there are lots of intersecting reasons. We get it. But we’re 100% convinced the main reason women’s murders are getting more numerous and more horrendous is because of the actions of Australia’s loathsome media cohort. The kind of media owned by Rupert Murdoch, whose constant objectification of women and refusal to treat them as fully human (unless they further his aims like his boy-suck employees) sends young men the message women are inferior and are male possessions (which means they can be killed if they refuse to accept such possession). The kind of media owned by Kerry Stokes, who’s successfully destroyed the likelihood that any woman will report a sexual crime in future. Who can say whether Hannah McGuire hesitated to report any possible harassment from Young in the days before she died because she’d seen what Brittany has been put through? And the kind of media journos and commentators from other mastheads who are so determined to protect the mates they went to uni with or socialise with at their bullshit fossil-fuel-sponsored awards ceremonies they refuse to call out the blatant misogyny and hatred pushed by their shitty colleagues. Hannah is dead, just like the two dozen or so women before her JUST THIS YEAR SO FAR who’ve been killed by men. Killed by “real men”. Killed by men who other men drink beside in pubs and play beside on footy teams and work beside like the woman-hating fuckheads at Stokes’s Spotlight show who revealed their true characters in reams and reams of text messages calling Britt a liar, a gold-digger, a bitch, a harlot and a WOMAN, so automatically a person to be disbelieved, detested and destroyed. Of COURSE these values filter through to other men, and alter their violence and their misogyny. How the fuck could they not? We’re fucking sick of this. Sick of the bloodshed, sick of the violence, sick of the abject fear and terror we imagine these women went through just before they died. Nobody knows for sure yet if Young killed Hannah, but SOMEBODY fucking killed her. Hey, men, we know for certain most of you are good guys. So don’t you dare fucking #NotAllMen us. But the killing spree keeps going and too many men keep saying and doing little or nothing to stop it while too many women are even more fearful and anxious within their own homes or out of them. Why? #ToYourBrooms #SquishSpotlight

@PatsKarvelas The article, like so many others, portrays religion as normal. That’s the real cause of the issue. Why don’t you write about the base truth - religion is stupid. Saying goodbye to religion would give the people on space ship Earth a chance to get along. 😃👍
