We built the Codex App with models that were okayish at front-end. Wait to see what we can do when we finally improve front-end capabilities significantly in our models. That day will be something.

🚨BREAKING: TRUMP ON ANTHROPIC REPORTER: Do you view Anthropic and to a degree its CEO, Dario Amodei, as a threat to national security? TRUMP: "Well, not now, but a week ago, maybe. I was with him yesterday, he made a speech... seemed like a nice guy, smart guy. But he responded to us very quickly, because you know it's a tremendous liability… he responded very responsibly, I thought." REPORTER: Would you consider using the Defense Production Act to possibly regulate or control AI? TRUMP: "I would, but, I'm not sure I have to do that. I think so far it's been very responsible. Actually, it was a competitor, and a part-owner, that turned Anthropic in…"

Can’t believe it’s the last World Cup ever for both Cristiano Ronaldo & Lionel Messi. No matter who you think the GOAT has been, it’s been a joy to watch these superhumans compete.

No one knows yet what the next form factor for computing will be, and yet there will be a next form factor, and it will seem obvious in retrospect.

Michael Truell launched and pivoted Cursor 8 times. It started off as an email companion. Just not giving up makes you win. The number of tries and the size of the win might differ, but a win is a win.

My god, what is going on at Meta? They are doing their best to shoot themselves in the foot. Most engineers are being asked to label data. I think Meta is confused whether it's a consumer company or an enterprise company, and it's slowly walking a death march towards being neither.

Noam Shazeer, one of the key architects behind Transformer, the foundational architecture powering modern LLMs and much of the deep learning-driven AI boom, is leaving Google to join OpenAI. After a brief resurgence last year, Google now appears to be losing momentum again in the frontier AI race.

Most engineers don’t need to use crazy models like Fable 5 or even Opus, I’ve found something light weight like Sonnet, GPT-spark, or Composer does the implementation equally as well. It’s only the pure vibe coders that are freaking out about these models getting rug pulled.

Competition is good for the coding space, this also makes me very bullish on SpaceXAI. Now they have complete vertical integration. This could have been the perfect opportunity to rebrand Cursor to XCode 🙂‍↔️

Our CEO Vlad Tenev shared the following note with our team at Robinhood today: Robinhoodies, We’ve made the difficult decision to say goodbye to some of our team members today. Those departing are being notified, and we’re offering them full support through this transition, including severance. These are good people who helped build the foundation we stand on today, and I am deeply grateful for their contributions to Robinhood. I want to be transparent about why this is happening now. Robinhood’s business has never been stronger. But to achieve the massive scale of our mission, we cannot default to operating as a heavily-layered organization. We must be a lean, hyper-focused team where every single individual is empowered to make a massive impact. Our execution is strong today, but our ambitions require us to continuously raise our own bar. To achieve that, today we are flattening our org structure and reducing our overall team size by 10% of headcount. Because our financial position is strong, we are making this change proactively. The goal is to maximize our talent density and ensure that our culture is defined by an absolute elite performance bar and a superlative commitment to our customers. This transition creates even more opportunities for our most talented people to grow and take on greater responsibility. We will also continue hiring strategically, investing heavily in top-tier talent, and utilizing frontier technologies to push our execution even further. I know it can be painful to say goodbye to teammates. It is the hardest consequence of committing uncompromisingly to our values of being “Lean & Disciplined” and demanding “High Performance.”
