Jazz are by going to host the Grizzlies, then travel to face the Lakers without either Luka or Reaves.
Both could be wins.
They’d need some help from Sacramento the rest of the way to remain in a tie, and it could happen, but it seems unlikely.

@kodon23 @drawing_defense Correct. Instead of 125 (4th) or 105 (5th) lottery combinations, each team will have 115. Tankathon is reflecting that part already, but they're guessing on the coin flip (order in case neither team moves up).

So if the Jazz hold this position and lose out, is there 0% chance they lose the pick? That’s what it appears Tankathon is saying but I thought there was a tie breaker protocol

@drawing_defense There is a tiebreaker. Tankathon doesn't deal with that in season, because it's basically a coin flip. For now they've assumed the Jazz won the coin flip & have the 4th position, but that hasn't happened yet.

They just need to go 2-6 the rest of the way to lock in their lottery slot. And that is if the teams above them actually lose out.
You can always turn it back on, but might as well try the next five games and see if you can't win one or two

@Tjonesonthenba You're not building a championship team in one summer. They'll have the opportunity to identify problems and fix them within a 3 year window they have before they will need to trade someone of the leaders.

Again, I think the NBA is wrong on this.
But, all of these would actually benefit the Jazz considering where we’re at in our rebuild. We’re going to be better next year, and could continue to get valuable picks with how we’re set up.

The NBA presented three comprehensive anti-tanking concepts to its Board of Governors on Wednesday, with modifications expected to each before a formal vote in May, per ESPN sources. 1. 18 teams in draft lottery (seeds 7-15 in each conference) – flattened odds, with bottom 10 teams having an 8% chance, the remaining 20% odds distributed in decreasing order for 11 through 18, and and a lottery drawing for all 18 picks. 2) 22 teams in lottery using 2-year record (seeds 7-15, plus the four playoff first round exits in both conferences). Lottery teams would reach a minimum win total floor in each season, such as 25 wins. If a team falls short of the floor, it gets slotted to meet the floor. Top 4 drawn as part of lottery, as is currently. 3) 18 teams in a "5 by 5" lottery – bottom 5 teams have equal odds for the top pick, with lottery formed for picks 1-5. Bottom 5 teams have a floor at 10; those that fall out of top 5 get sorted in a separate drawing.

@BensHoops I wonder if the jazz get 5-8 and they want burries, will they trade down... acuff is not a good fit for a team with so many offensive weapons and smallish guards. I do like the other guards though like Flemings, waggler, burries and brown jr.

The lack of size in the draft outside of the top four picks might make it both unpredictable, and weaker than last year’s draft.
The saving grace might be that all of these guards can shoot.

@YutaJazz00 Finishing 5th is a great scenario considering we're starting the next season with prime Lauri, prime jjj, probably Kessler on a new deal, key which is on his way to become top 10 pg in the league, ace on the rise and a great prospect in this draft
