“Football” no.. I said “premier league” because foreign matches should be a novelty. The BBC or ITV don’t show La Liga matches… Or Barcelona would sell more shirts in England. I’m an Arsenal fan- grew up less than a Km away from the old Highbury. Been to the new Emirates … But I won’t want El Classico liga matches on bc/itv, I want it paid for on Sky. That should be the same across the board- in all countries. And I’m not saying this to win an argument dear chap…I completely undertand your defence of Arsenal

I love football, but these are residues of mental slavery. Governments need to ban European sports on African television, they need to force us all to start supporting our own local sports.

The 2- Brits bringing English to parts of Africa, and The premier league being part of African lives, are not inextricably linked. You made this illogical connection. Africans don’t watch American major league soccer. Many Africans don’t follow English cricket. The premier league commands a global audience, including non English countries. But the risk the OP is highlighting is the danger to local sport clubs. It needs to be a delicacy - paid subscriptions, not on local channels. It’s common sense to protect local markets and local sports, doesn’t need your injection of this race nonsense.

@God2Evolution @chambeshi101 The Indians , Australians or Americans didn't bring English to Africa , Brits did so it's a "White man's language". And you can't choose to keep that as a culture and criticise others when they retain their sport as part of their lives.

English is not a “white man’s language”- there is Australian English, Indian English, American English, Nigerian English, Irish English etc… And the point is that local sports clubs are not given priority to grow when international sports dominate normal television. The premier league should be on special paid tv, so common folks support local clubs.
