This is honestly way I am spending less time on this platform. As someone in a career transition, who came from a relatively stable industry, it's hard enough adjusting to the pace & continual learning of tech. But when I login here, and without fail, I hear it's over for X, or the Y I just learned is now superseded, there is a very burnout-like emotion drain caused.

There’s a new kind of burnout now. Not from working too much. From trying to keep up with tools, models, frameworks, launches, and 600 people saying “it’s over” every morning.

@Ravenismeee Of course not. But money give you more options. Money allows you to try & test many more possible solutions to your problems than poverty would ever allow. Or, at least, if problems remain, then you can suffer in comfort and without most pressures 🤷‍♂️

@_ROB_29 Don't forget there was a brief 'mini disc' era around late 1990s, early 2000s 🤦‍♂️

If people want to know why Gen X is always mad, it's because we had to replace our record collections with a tape collection and then replace that with a CD collection that we slowly replaced with an MP3 collection and now need a subscription to listen to music.

@KariLawler When younger, I was big fan of air war games. Specifically: * Wings, by Cinemaware * 1942 Pacific Air War, by Microprose Sensible Soccer & SimCity deserve honourable mentions from this era too. As a teenager, with mates, I loved playing Red Alert 2 as a team around one computer.

Who remembers PC gaming in the 1990s? If so, what's your favourite game from this era? ... Gaming like it's the 1990s with a CD-ROM classic everyone keeps recommending, that being the original 1995 RTS (real-time strategy) game, Command & Conquer from Westwood Studios. (cont...)

@TheCinesthetic This one. But also could have been the final scene with Jyn and Andor sitting together on the beach together as the planet explodes.

I think there is still lots of room for creativity. And there will be space for people who still know design norms. 1) Creativity is needed to even imagine something 'good' for Stitch to do. 2) And if you get Stitch to design something equivalent to Homer's Green Bubble Car, and not use reassuring design norms for users, then all efforts (and tokens!) may be wasted.
Sameer@samtwtss

bro, it's so over for designers google stitch is insane. 🤯

@szewailaw_lis What about: * HelloChinese & TalkPal? * Aim to get to HSK1 by end of year? * And ready to use HelloTalk when I have the confidence to hold a convo beyond 20 seconds? * Plus, have another 2026 goal to make my first trip to China? And ideally have Shenzen on the itinerary.

@pcshipp 283 users may have led to $0 revenue. But also, thats 283 people who may offer feedback on what tweaks/updates they'd pay for! I wouldn't quit, I'd change strategy. Maybe focus less on short-term revenue & more on finding out how to convert % of the 283 into paying customers?

Struggling tonight... 1: Had a good few days since my last build, and I feel like I've forgotten everything. 2: Feeling a bit overwhelmed as every step seems to branch out to 5 other steps. Overall, just not enjoying it at the moment. Worried. Unsure. Insecure. Going to close things up for an hour, have a meal, and see how I feel after that. #BuildInPublic

It's can be a cultural thing. I grew up being taught to leave food on the plate meant you were 'ungrateful'. During a trip in my early 20s I found out that some cultures see leaving food on the plate meant you were 'satisfied & full' and an empty plate meant 'Still hungry, give me more'.

If you've eaten so much that it's not healthy to eat more and you don't want to eat more, and you still eat more anyway "to finish the food", then you are just using your mouth as a garbage can.
