@JonnyRoot_ It would be wiser to issue a statement at the press conference and then say, "I won't answer any questions about this topic at this time. I'm here to talk about football."

New England Patriots HC Mike Vrabel is ditching the pre-draft press conference on Monday, so he doesn’t have to answer any questions about Dianna Russini. Cowardly move, but from a PR standpoint, I get it. (via Mike Reiss of ESPN)

@StampedeBlue Sure, because no other team wants him, and when Daniel Jones gets injured again, AR will be the guy over Riley Leonard. Do I think that's right? No, but that's not what you asked.

@RickGoose2 And why didn't they win anything? Because the really good players didn't have enough good players around them. That's the GM's job. Good GMs build around their top players.

From a pure leadership standpoint, the #Colts this offseason will have moved on from WR Michael Pittman Jr., LB Zaire Franklin, and soon CB Kenny Moore. Three pillars of the franchise who did a lot on the field—but were just as significant off the field and in the locker room.

@thats_bb_suzyn But isn't the point a conflict of interest? Any journalist who covers a team as a beat shouldn't be fraternizing with the people on that team. Objectivity and accuracy get compromised.

@mrmikeMTL Not just magazines, but also newspapers and books. That's something that has fallen by the wayside because of laziness that technology supports. We don't know English grammar anymore because it's not taught.

@AdamAkbani My problem with ABS is that it's two-dimensional. Pitches can cross any part of home plate -- in the front or the back -- and not be detected as strikes by ABS. The strike zone is three-dimensional.

John Smoltz's take on Walker calling for an ABS challenge is awful It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that your chances of reaching base are drastically lower in a pitcher's count versus a hitter's count Someone, please, get him off the broadcast

@chatting_colts I think Chris Ballard should have been fired long ago, and on most other teams, he would have been. But he was simply giving Jim Irsay what he wanted, wasn't he? The question is what the 2nd season under Carlie Irsay-Gordon will look like. How long will she tolerate mediocrity?

“Who did a lot on the field” None were voted All Pro, only Pro Bowls were reverted/replacement players, team never had more than 10 wins in the final five years. 38-46-1 in that time span. They did a lot of nothing.

NIL didn’t ruin college sports. The NCAA’s refusal to build a real legal framework did. NIL just made it impossible to hide. 100 years. $0 paid to athletes. $2.8 billion now owed in back pay.

@TBlountNews Does Texas give tax breaks to households that don't have children in public schools? If you're forcing me to put my child in a private school to hear the Bible, then at least let me put my education tax money into that private school instead.

No teacher should be reading religious text in a public school. If you want that, put your child in a private religious school.

Reports confirm that Dianna Russini has been pulled from her duties at The Athletic as the outlet launches a more in-depth investigation into the Mike Vrabel situation. "Her coverage is being reviewed. That process is expected to take time. She will not be reporting in the interim." Earlier this week, The Athletic stood firmly behind Dianna Russini, with executive editor Steven Ginsberg dismissing the photos as “misleading” and expressing full confidence in her work.

@ChaseDaniel But the experience issue is valid. And if someone counted only 38 snaps under center the difference between Simpson and Mendoza, it really isn't a huge difference. With Cousins' signing, it seems unlikely either one will start anytime soon. And it matters who drafts Simpson.

@TomPelissero If owners are directly involved, it seems more progress is likely so that the union's demands can be debated, and if some are thought to be unreasonable, the NFLRA negotiators will know that immediately. The owners know these are the best officials; the trick is reaching a deal.

Among the owners in attendance Thursday: Jerry Jones, who last week publicly backed the NFL's push for expanded training, performance-based pay and other measures to improve officiating in current talks with the NFLRA.

Several owners joined the NFL negotiating team yesterday in its negotiations with the NFL Referees Association. Per an NFL source, the meeting was productive and there is an expectation for continued discussions. The sides' CBA expires May 31.

@tjmcaulay Correct me if I'm wrong, Terry, but the only time the referee can award points is a palpably unfair act or a repeated foul to keep halving the distance.

Would leave high school during Lunch period. Zip over to Arby’s. Eat five (5) roast beef sandwiches for lunch, smothered in sauce. Seasoned curlies, too. Mr. Pibb. And be back at my desk for Calculus like it was no big deal. That was just Thursday.

Obviously, the pictures don't look great for either of them. Russini has two very young children. If there's fire to this smoke, what a brutal thing this is for both families involved. Also, if this does end up being what it looks like, her career will forever be tainted and questions of how she obtains/obtained intel will never end. Vrabel who preaches so hard about family, accountability, etc., would also take a significant hit to his reputation. Finally, the amount of Eagles fans saying this is why she was pushing an A.J. Brown to Pats trade, is the implication that Vrabel is possibly having an affair with EVERY NFL Insider, male and female. No idea how he'd find the time.
