(and I was only working part-time while taking classes towards a PhD in Cognitive Science) So many morals here but mainly: You don’t get what you don’t ask for. Diagnosing problems is what gets you paid. And audacity wins.

On the flip side, I’ve had people do this to me, I’m always happy to share advice and end up referring clients to them if I feel they’re a good fit.

you’ll hear from them in a few weeks or months when a role does open up. I’ve seen this work for a number of my mentees after they had applied on LinkedIn to 100s of positions.

My advice to anyone who has been laid off or pivoting careers is to find 3-5 people on LinkedIn that have your ideal job OR work at your ideal company (preferably smaller companies or startups). Ask to take them out for coffee or a quick zoom meeting 👇🏼

Are lots of people quitting corporate jobs without a plan or is it just my social media echo chamber? No judgement, I did that over a decade ago. Just curious on the cultural shift because it was reallllly rare when I did it at 25.

My top 3 science supported health practices. 1) Morning sunlight viewing. To set circadian rhythm, focus, mood etc. 2) 180-200min of Zone 2 (moderate) cardio per week. Cardiovascular health. 3) NSDR (Non-Sleep-Deep Rest; 10-30min, 3-7X per week). Stress mitigation, cognition.

In science: Opposing data = “a field” Opposing opinions = “ongoing debate” Absence of an answer = “opportunity” Changing stance based on new information = “integrity”
