@OLARID7852 @jamynx @Ayoelesho My response is to your sentence that "the price would have gone up anyway" (paraphrased), the price increase and disparity has been disproportionate. And if not for the docile masses that would accept any & every-thing, such increase should have been kicked against.

@komarovite @jamynx @Ayoelesho I am not arguing in support or against the pricing actually. I am arguing against the premise that Adelabu is there to make money for the government.

One thing you have to understand about Adelabu is that he's doing exactly what he was appointed for. He had no background that would have made him an effective Minister of Power but he had a finance background that helped him create a structure to generate more revenue for Tinubu. This structure is in the form of Band A and the rest, where people living in highbrow areas have more power and pay more than citizens living in less developed areas, but should still enjoy a 24-hour power supply regardless. So, while Adelabu has failed Nigerians by refusing to bolster power generation and distribution, he has served his master excellently by generating revenue for him. The only reason Nigerians are angry is that we believe, and wrongly so, that he was appointed to serve ordinary Nigerians.

See the disparity despite receiving the relatively the same duration of power. This doesn't mean all other tariffs should be increased but A shouldn't be so high. /2
