Putin’s attack - including a hypersonic missile - was designed to terrorize and kill civilians. Pure evil. Now, even with its advance stopped, Moscow’s desire to invade Europe remains. Deterrence requires the West to impose costs on Russian military and dual use infrastructure.
The people and leaders of Ukraine are defending their nation’s sovereignty. All of Europe should support them, and American sovereignty benefits from Ukrainian security and victory as well.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has three reasons why negotiating with Putin cannot work.
First: trust. Putin's word and signature mean nothing. He is already in breach of the Russo-Ukrainian border treaty he signed. Why would the next one be different?
Second: information. When you have been a dictator for over 20 years, everyone around you lies to protect themselves. Putin does not know the true situation he is in. Dictators always drop their maximalist demands too late.
Third: power. Dictators correctly understand they cannot admit a mistake or withdraw from a position without losing power. The logic of the system makes compromise impossible.
Sikorski's conclusion: this war will not be ended by Putin. It will be ended by someone else.
That is not pessimism. That is a structural analysis of how authoritarian power works.

Er begründet den Russland-Bezug mit der historischen Verbindung Sachsen-Anhalts zur DDR und damit zur Sowjetunion. Er stellt Russland ausdrücklich als kulturelle Frage dar und will diese von der aktuellen politischen Lage trennen. Vom viel beschworenen „Deutschland voranbringen“ ist nicht die Rede: kein Fokus auf Wirtschaft, Innovation oder echte Bildungsreformen. Stattdessen soll in Sachsen-Anhalt die erste von der AfD geführte Landesregierung gebildet und von dort aus ein politischer „Dominoeffekt“ ausgelöst werden.
