There's something poetic about spending an hour modeling a dishwasher for your home decorating game and then getting up to do the dishes by hand because... well you don't have a dishwasher. 🪶

@BecomingCaptain I see... It's much more ambitious than my first games, so props to you on that! 🫡 I do hope you persist with this one though, because if the players think there's genuinely something there, that's a good sign! UI update, maybe a price drop and who knows what can happen

@kouziigames Yes, it's my first game and it is a massive failure on most side. The architecture is wrong, the UI is wrong, the gameplay is badly stitched together. I am not fooling myself. I made a messy product and I am lucky that those who played it actually enjoyed it.

The failure of Becoming Captain on the market has certainly been hard to deal with. I did not have high hopes, but I certainly believed that with all the efforts I did put in, I would have some results. I now understand that making a good game requires more than effort.

@BecomingCaptain I know from experience that it doesn't seem fair to judge a game purely on UI, but that was genuinely my first impression and I do believe those impressions stick. Best of luck to you!

@BecomingCaptain The good news - based on the comments the game itself is fun, which is great, and if it genuinely is the presentation that is lacking, that can be fixed much more easily than gameplay. My suggestion would be to try out a different clean, visually appealing and consistent style.

@kouziigames Bro! I was fired from a very well-paid job in finance! Making games is kind of a hobby I deposited too much hope in, to be able to just feed myself while I can't find work. You're my opposite, you left job - I was fired, you have hope - I have none! But you're right let's go!!

@jogamedev do you know how the personal calendar works? as in, does it show releases that are gonna happen within the next month or some kind of different timeframe?

The Personal Calendar is now making up 42% of my impressions although Search Suggestions has a much higher Click Through Rate. "Some of You May Die" hit an unbelievable 589 wishlists yesterday 😱 whereas the daily average last week was around 50. I'm not sure where all this traffic from Search Suggestions is coming from. There was a Wanderbots video on my game 5 days ago that performed fairly well but it's views are slowing down from what I can tell.

@dailypcgames I quit a very well-paid job in finance to make games. Without hope, there is nothing. I trust that we're all gonna achieve our dreams 😅

@kouziigames I'm in that spot too, wish I was as positive as you, but I fear it is the phase before the eternal "zero sales" chapter where I realize I suck ass and will never do anything good with my life, ultimately leading to a spiral of depression and self destruction. But hey, let's gooo!
