@kpm1234

I have 2 good boys and a bad ass wife. I find solutions, MacGyver, Knight Rider Magnum PI were my influencers. Fight for wins, accept and learn from losses.

I made wine for the first time last year, it was a fail. Trying again this year, following directions this time. Dragon Springs Farm Cabernet Sauvignon.

Yesterday we finished our first honeydew melon. So good! They sell for about $5 conventional. This morning we shared a Kajari. it busted probably rain or heat, not sure but it was still very good and sweet and many more coming in! Can’t even buy Kajari, that’s what makes it fun.

@jdflippin My peppers at my Farm 120 miles North of my house are just now getting peppers. Amazing the how that little of distance makes a huge difference. My figs are the same way.

The biggest lesson I learned in intelligence had nothing to do with secrets. People often assume intelligence is about having access to classified information. It isn't. The best intel officers I worked with weren't successful because they knew more than everyone else. They were successful because they noticed the little things that others overlooked. Before the attacks on September 11th, there were clues. Before COVID became a global pandemic, there were clues. Before Russia invaded Ukraine, there were clues. Before the Taliban rapidly retook Afghanistan, there were clues. The problem wasn't that there was no information. The problem was that the information wasn't connected, prioritized, or ACTED upon. Good intelligence starts by asking different questions. What changed? What's missing? Why now? Who benefits? Those same questions matter just as much outside the intelligence world. Whether you're evaluating a news story, making a business decision, preparing for hurricane season, or simply trying to understand what's happening around you, the goal isn't to know everything. It's to recognize patterns before everyone else does. One unusual event rarely tells you much. But when several small indicators all begin pointing in the same direction, that's when you should pay attention. Your goal is not to predict the future, it's to reduce a surprise. The next time a major story breaks, don't immediately ask whether it's true or false. Ask: (1) What do we actually know? (2) What information is still missing? (3) Who benefits from this narrative? (4) Has something like this happened before? (5) What would change my mind? Most people consume information. Think like an analyst instead. The world doesn't need more opinions. It needs more people willing to slow down, ask better questions, and pay attention.

Big flex. People talk about it but it never happens. Two 12yr olds. One that has grown up around it, one who has not. “Do what you want, don’t come back till dark”. Encourage kids to dump the phones. They will be ok. They will figure it out.

Let me give some scale. My boy is 12, 5’4”, 112lb. When I bought this farm in Aug of 2022 the ponds had been emptied by the neighbors. I restocked Sept 2022. Back in the day people came to these ponds for catfish, huge ones, i have seen the 30 yr old photos. The springs are why the fish grow like they do.

Richards was always to be the CB. There was supposed to be a replacement for Ream to emerge -- never happened. Forced a different alignment -- 3 in the back with two wingers forced to track back. It just doesn't work.
SuperiorUSMNT@EinSchwarzwelt

Ream was never the solution, just a makeshift solution to a midfield lacking high-end creators as a long ball passer. That's why I knew he was never going to hang when the opposition had actual forwards and midfielders willing to run at him.

Ream wasn’t the issue, actually Ream played well honestly. The first goal was on Adams, Dest and Freeman, who just stared at a bouncing ball in the box and didn’t clear it. The second goal again was in Dest and Freeman, they had perfect a double team and failed to pin Trousad, instead they just let him get to the end line and cross it. They attempted to close it out too late and by that time it was a one on one for the cross. Freese also didn’t react well to it. As for the 3rd goal, that was entirely on Freese, he was in over his head after the first save he made it was an extremely bad showing for him. Overall, the entire team was terrible in the first half. They came out too amped up, which showed on offense, and translated on the defensive side into tentative play that lead to the first and second goal. Overall, this was no one’s best game, including Poch. They adjusted well into the second half, came out strong, but again I thought they played too tentative and it showed by them trying to make the perfect pass rather than just playing. Once that third goal happened it was over because they had completely lost faith. The next cycle will be interesting because Puli is going to hit his prime next season and the year after, then the inevitable fall for wingers starts and he’ll be 31 and starting to lose his speed, Cavan should be starting his ascent and Gigi should be playing full time somewhere as a keeper in Europe. That will solve two major issues for us, GKing and a solid 10 (hopefully he is a 10 and not a winger for this team).

Home garden update: Big trim & dropped tomatoes, they are still flowering and not much disease. Found a couple worms. Moved all the peppers closer to the deck for more shade, finally got drip on them. I am going to shade them after a run to the farm for supplies.

@kpm1234 @ProspectsUsmnt Orlando city. The place that developed Alex freeman, the same guy that Miami told “he was not good enough” say what you will about the MLS team, but OCB and the academy are full of talent. Miami is a dead end, only concentrated on Pessi and friends

Inter Miami's academy sucks and we can no longer pretend otherwise. There's essentially nothing in the way of pro prospects when you watch those teams. I hate watching them because it feels like I'm watching whatever the minor leagues of MLS academies is.

@BugmaniaL I have a wood rat and squirrel issue. I have to pull the sweeter peppers a little earlier and then let them ripen in a bright window. They ripen pretty quick doing that and I don't risk losing the peppers to pests. I have never had so many issues with pests till this year.

@kpm1234 Okay. Gotcha. I actually have grown those before. Wait until they're bright red and pull. They're a Hungarian type of paprika. I dehydrated mine and made powders. 🙂

Almost every variety of paprika I've grown doesn't taste the best until they turn bright red. Then, you roast or dehydrate them for optimal flavor profiles. I still try them before they turn. Not much flavor yet, but very thick walled variety here. They should be pretty, too. 😎
