The association clarified that ticket prices have not been increased by local cinema halls. They alleged that multinational theatre chains raised ticket prices without informing the District Commissioner or the Cinema Hall Owners’ Association, and accused them of exploiting Zubeen’s name for commercial gain. The association further claimed that distributors take only 2–3% commission from Hindi films, but 10% from Assamese films, calling the practice unfair. “We urge the distributor of Assam to take 2% commission instead of 10 for this movie,” General Secretary Rajeev Kumar Bora appealed.
