@GregChew14 @theswansjr I do however think its you that do not want to engage in a meaningfull way. You put words in other people's mouth. Dont know if it is to make yourself feel good, or just a way to win arguments
English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr okay if its not an insult i guess thats fine. i try not to judge strangers online too early either. anyways from what i saw i aggree with especially start of article but didnt have time to read further.
English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr this is why i mostly dont engage on the internet. i just get called names
English

@kreeflewer @theswansjr OK, so you won’t actually read, you are a literal bigot whose only interest is in repeating nonsensical tropes.
All the best.
English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr no i didnt read all i just skimmed it. my opinion is we cannot go back in time and BCH is the closest to original bitcoin that we have.
English

@kreeflewer @theswansjr By repeating such arguments as if they are anything but tissue thin tropes, I don’t see that you are engaging with the purpose of learning anything.
Did you read the Susbtack?
English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr i'm not playing a game. ive been in bitcoin from early on and i'm just more aligned with how Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn viewed bitcoin. i would have stayed with btc if it had plans to raise the block size cap. for now btc is fine but in far future it will have big problems
English

@kreeflewer @theswansjr Nothing of the sort. That’s complete nonsense. To then go on and cite “second layer solutions” shows you up as a parrot of narratives who has never stopped to think for one second on any of this.
If you’d like to do so now, happy to facilitate, but not playing this game.
English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr Not broken—just intentionally limited so it can’t scale as designed. The fix was tried (see the Bitcoin Cash split), but the market chose Bitcoin as small-block “digital gold” with second-layer solutions.
English

@kreeflewer @theswansjr No. More of the same, pretending that something flawed beyond use isn’t to get cash from FOMO.

English

@GregChew14 @theswansjr sounds like you would like bitcoin cash then
English

@kreeflewer @theswansjr No, it started as a peer to peer electronic cash system. It is the definitive proof of concept for that.
What a bunch of bad actors then did was turn it into a NGU casino.
This is why Satoshi walked away. Principle.

English

@theswansjr @GregChew14 it started as digital money though, but was changed in to something that will fit in better with the status quo
English

@theswansjr @GregChew14 no, bitcoin is digital gold, not digital money

@NSKinsella @TheBCHPodcast There are not that many coins that contain the genesis block. Hard forking bitcoin (and having the fork retain value) is not nearly as easy as creating a new coin. Most coins out there are not true hardforks of bitcoin that preserve all the transactions before the fork
English

@TheBCHPodcast When you have shitcoins BTC2, BTC3, BTC4... BTCn, and some shitcoiner says "BTC17 is the one!! It and only it will take over BTC!" it's reasonable to ask ... what makes BTC17 better than the others.
English

ha I'm sure the "bitcoin was hijacked" big blockers will whine that this is 10 years too late

Bitcoin Core has no CEO, no board, no formal hierarchy.
But between 2019 and 2025, a small network of developers, funders, and institutions came to control who got in, who got funded, and what got merged.
I am working on a four-article series documenting how informal power over Bitcoin Core was built, exercised, and defended.
Article one scheduled to drop next week.
English

@MrHodl @BitcoinMotorist This is why there is so many alt coins..
English

@BitcoinMotorist Nonsense. Every human interaction should be voluntary. If people dislike how a chain is progressing, then they should leave!
English

Big blockers became big OPpers.
Same talking points👇
Nodes don't matter.
UASF is reckless.
Large OP_RETURN is not a problem.
BitMEX Research@BitMEXResearch
@dathon_ohm @boomer_btc @btcbenchmark @gladstein Large OP_Returns does not make it harder to run nodes If anything, large OP_Returns have a small side benefit of making it slightly easier to run a full node
English

@hodlonaut Thats what the block size wars was about. The fork that won was the 'digital gold' fork. Its all history now.
English

I've spent the last month looking closely at how Bitcoin Core and the network around it has operated the last years.
A blatant cultural and philosophical shift.
Shocking arrogance and contempt for dissent on display around the OP_RETURN uncap. Opposition was reframed as "harassment", "drama" and "brigading". Consensus was simply declared, in the face of massive controversy and opposition.
Bitcoin is imo clearly drifting towards “anything goes if there is a use case out there” relativism.
Bitcoin is supposed to be money. That's the mission. Separating money and state. Not being a data layer adapting to the needs of venture-backed projects.
Staying neutral while Bitcoin drifts in this direction isn't something I can justify anymore. It feels urgent that something is done to counter it.
English

@MrKukks You have to ask why would they do this? Probably because they prefer an onchain transaction. Why do they prefer an onchain transaction? Because LN is not practical. Its not a valid scaling solution for BTC.
English

Onchain is now officially cheaper than LN on Kraken 🤦
astupidmoose - #Bitcoin Psychopath #WhenTransmuter@astupidmoose
Kraken has started charging a 0.3% fee for accepting Lightning payments. This is a bad move imo.
English

@thenarr47271717 @Tor60990961 'Let your dreams be dreams' haha like a demotivational quote. Duno why i find it funny lol
English

Small blocker logic:
Everyone should afford to run a node.
No one should afford to actually use Bitcoin.

English

@brt2412 @Mattyverse i dont even need to imagine.. its happening right here!
English

@Mattyverse Imagine talking about about BSV and BCH when $KAS exists lol
English

If you are one of the people that call $BCH and $BSV shitcoins, and thing $BTC isn't, then I assume you've never read the Whitepaper word for word and have never studied the history of bitcoin.
Nobody who knows the whole history of bitcoin would accept $BTC as gospel unless they have money at stake.
