BCH will always be the first bitcoin hard fork to increase the block size cap. This alone should already be reason enough to own some, even if only as a hedge for your BTC.

@GregChew14 @theswansjr I do however think its you that do not want to engage in a meaningfull way. You put words in other people's mouth. Dont know if it is to make yourself feel good, or just a way to win arguments

Nobody calls gold a Ponzi scheme. Nobody calls real estate a Ponzi scheme. Both require new buyers to maintain value. Yet, some say bitcoin is a Ponzi. Why?

@GregChew14 @theswansjr i'm not playing a game. ive been in bitcoin from early on and i'm just more aligned with how Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn viewed bitcoin. i would have stayed with btc if it had plans to raise the block size cap. for now btc is fine but in far future it will have big problems

@GregChew14 @theswansjr Not broken—just intentionally limited so it can’t scale as designed. The fix was tried (see the Bitcoin Cash split), but the market chose Bitcoin as small-block “digital gold” with second-layer solutions.

@NSKinsella @TheBCHPodcast There are not that many coins that contain the genesis block. Hard forking bitcoin (and having the fork retain value) is not nearly as easy as creating a new coin. Most coins out there are not true hardforks of bitcoin that preserve all the transactions before the fork

@TheBCHPodcast When you have shitcoins BTC2, BTC3, BTC4... BTCn, and some shitcoiner says "BTC17 is the one!! It and only it will take over BTC!" it's reasonable to ask ... what makes BTC17 better than the others.

Bitcoin Core has no CEO, no board, no formal hierarchy. But between 2019 and 2025, a small network of developers, funders, and institutions came to control who got in, who got funded, and what got merged. I am working on a four-article series documenting how informal power over Bitcoin Core was built, exercised, and defended. Article one scheduled to drop next week.

@hodlonaut Thats what the block size wars was about. The fork that won was the 'digital gold' fork. Its all history now.

I've spent the last month looking closely at how Bitcoin Core and the network around it has operated the last years. A blatant cultural and philosophical shift. Shocking arrogance and contempt for dissent on display around the OP_RETURN uncap. Opposition was reframed as "harassment", "drama" and "brigading". Consensus was simply declared, in the face of massive controversy and opposition. Bitcoin is imo clearly drifting towards “anything goes if there is a use case out there” relativism. Bitcoin is supposed to be money. That's the mission. Separating money and state. Not being a data layer adapting to the needs of venture-backed projects. Staying neutral while Bitcoin drifts in this direction isn't something I can justify anymore. It feels urgent that something is done to counter it.

@MrKukks You have to ask why would they do this? Probably because they prefer an onchain transaction. Why do they prefer an onchain transaction? Because LN is not practical. Its not a valid scaling solution for BTC.

If you are one of the people that call $BCH and $BSV shitcoins, and thing $BTC isn't, then I assume you've never read the Whitepaper word for word and have never studied the history of bitcoin. Nobody who knows the whole history of bitcoin would accept $BTC as gospel unless they have money at stake.
